Jul 9, 2017 - A constant beep (every second or two, and never stopping) generally means the UPS is very low on battery power, and you should shut down ...
Missing: Nexxtech ' Must include: Nexxtech
UPS come in two types, lower powered cheaper types are usually switch over power. These units senses a power outage and then switch over to the battery power to generate mains supply. The switch over occurs in milli-secs and does not affect the computer. True UPS types constantly run off battery power to generate mains supply so there is no switch over time lag. These units are higher powered and higher costs units.
Both type of UPS have the same components. Battery charger. Batteries Inverter that converts battery voltage to mains voltage Electronic controls
may be power to the UPS went off or was not within permissible limits, hence the ups run on batteries until they were completely discharged, the servers went off because they are supplied by this ups. check the power supply to this ups, somebody could be switching it off accidentally. try to sitch the inpu power to the ups to see whether the batteries are okey
that is because the power outlet it is plugged into probably doesn't have a steady voltage. which means that if more things are plugged into the outlet then the power could be going from 120 volts to 99 volts to 130 volts and it could be going up and down like that. your ups thinks that when the power goes really low or really high their is a power outage or surge. so it clicks to battery. then when the voltage steadies out it clicks to house current. you will need to configure the ups to have to tolerate that kind of voltage. by plugging the data cord in to your computer it is either a Ethernet to usb or usb to usb, you know a cord that plugs into the ups to the computer to let you configure it.
Batteries in the UPS typically last 3 to 5 years and it depends upon several factors. including the number of times the unit must go on battery power and enviromental conditions. There are usually several batteries in the UPS and while the battery voltage may show 13 volts, this may only a float voltage and a true indication of the battery voltage needs the batteries to be tested under a load. there maybe one battery that is faulty and causing the whole battery system to fail.
These lower powered and cheaper KVA type UPS are switch over types (when the mains fail, the UPS switches over to the inverter in milli-seconds to supply mains power). It is a possibility the inverter circuit is faulty and when the mains power fails the inverter does not switch over.
The true UPS type are usually the higher KVA units (over 1500 KVA units) that converts mains power continuously via the inverter circuit. The mains power charges the batteries and the inverter drawing power from continuously from the batteries (therefore there is no switch over time lag from the mains to the battery.
ups may not be true on line, type so sometimes when power outage happens there can be a very small break in supply. this can cause load items to shut down get good quality on line ups.
More then likely one or more batteries are worn out..buy an inexpensive digital meter, harbor freight has them on sale now for $2.00...measure each battery if they are 12 volt type expect to see at least 10 Volts...if they are 6 volt type expect to see at least 4 volts...if one or more doesnt measue up...change ALL of them
where the model u using is 4 to 5 yrs so as well the battery too normally the battery life spam is up to 2 to 3 yrs and slowly the battery efficenit start to wore off.. the cost of changing the battery it also not cheap. ard 200 to 300 dollar in the market. well if you hav the in attendtion to buy a new ups i suggest the brand is APC or liebert. i recommend u the APC it will be sua750i or Liebert gxt2-1500rt230 both model is user friendly and easy to configue. and it has a very effiecent of excute proper OS shut down when power sugre is occur. and this durablity it higer can maintain up to 5 yrs above. if u need asst on what kind of ups u refer pls mi know will try to help up... thkss
