Suggestion is to format the device to remove all unwanted data permanently.
1 While the recorder is stopped, press the MENU button for 1 second or longer. The menu opens
2 Press the + or – button to chooseSubmenu and then + button to “Format”. 3 Press the OK button. The “Cancel” indicator flashes. 4 Press the + button to choose “Start”. 5 Press the OK button. After the “Data Will Be Cleared” message is on for two seconds, “Cancel” will turn on. 6 Press the + button again to choose “Start”. 7 Press the OK button. Formatting begins and an indicator flashes on the display. “Format Done” displays when formatting ends
you can rewind a tad and listen, but you can't overrecord, because a digital recorder writes audio information into a data file and saves it. you just can play it back again and record a new file. if you want to cut off a part of your recording, you have to edit the file in an audio editor. - as the olympus stores wma-files, you'll have to convert them into wav format first to edit them. i tried the 'switch' software successfully.
