Can anyone tell me what Error Code 4 means on a Saeco Talea Ring? The unit makes a soft beep 4 times before displaying the error code. I have tried removing all of the components (brewing group etc), but the error keeps re-appearing.
I need to know what error code 4 means as well.
Has anyone helped you yet?
I have error code 1 does anyone know what that is
Error code 1 means the grinder is not working, either the motor is bad or there is no power supply to the motor.Have to take it back to the Seaco service center.
I just took out my grinder and cleaned it due to error code 1. I removed it with instruction from another post in Fix-ya. It was tricky getting the cover off and really pops off. The sensor is magnetic and on the bottom gear of the grinder are two little magnets on opposite sides of the gear wheel. I discovered after reassembly that the magnet has to be aligned up with the sensor for the grinder to startup. If Clogged, there probably is too much friction which throws the alignment off. I suppose you could try to turn the grinder to coarse and then use a 10mm socket to turn the grinder in increments to find startup position again and then try to use an allen key to reach down the pre-ground feed hole and clear out the grinder outlet. Beware there is a metal flap that is in there at a 45 degree angle that acts as a baffle that you will need to reach under. try using a dental mirror. Personally' I'm glad I took my grinder out as I know how to do it now and was able to clean it better. Note that the grinder seems to be a one piece design after the motor is removed. I was told by Saeco that some beans have little pebbles in them and can get clogged in the grinder. Another post from a dealer blames oily beans. I'm thinking it is oily beans and this may happen to me again. I've had my unit 1.5 years.
Can you tell me where you found the instructions to clean the grinder on fixya? Thanks!

It ended up back with the manufacturer. The problem was a stuck motor I believe (the one that moves the brew group into position). Immediately after speaking to customer care they knew what it was and said it had to go back in. They replaced the motor. Sorry there isn't an easier fix.
