My Nikon S3300 camery battery says "battery exhausted." Previously, when this happened, I connected it with my laptop using the cable for a few hours and the battery recharged successfully. This time, I tried the same procedure, but the camera only took one shot before saying "battery exhausted" again. Do I need to order a new battery at this point?

Yes! Rechargeable batteries do not last forever. They do go bad.

SOURCE: Battery Problem

These cameras have a internal battery that holds data for the camera to keep its settings. These batteries can be replaced but the camera has to be disassimboled to change it they should be able to be changed at a local camera shop pretty cheap.

SOURCE: Battery Problem

I just had this problem today myself, and looked everywhere online for a solution. I changed the batteries (to Panasonic), and it didn't help. But i tried different batteries (Energizers) and the camera started working again.

SOURCE: My Nikon COOLPIX S3100 battery is exhausted, even though I charged it last night like I usually do every night.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm having the same problem.

My Nikon Coolpix S3300 lens will only open half way then it closes and turns off. how can I open it

Hi
I only really know of 2 reasons for this to happen.
The first is rather obvious and is that the battery does not have enough power left to operate the camera properly, and it therefore automatically shuts down. This happened on 3 different cameras I've had if the batteries were wearing out.
The second and rather more difficult to solve is that something is obstructing the lens from fully opening, dust, dirt, etc in the sliding mechanism. If the motor won't go past whatever point is causing it to stick, then the camera will shut down automatically. The only thing I can suggest is a careful and thorough cleaning of the slider mechanism. It may be possible to remove the battery cover whilst the lens is partially extended, which would allow part of the mechanism to be cleaned.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

I have a Nikon S3300. I haven't used it in several months. I got it out and plugged it up. When I do so, the on/off button lights up green and the charging light will blink green for a little bit and then...

did you plug it up for at least 10 minutes before turning it on? if you did then yeah, maybe the battery is the problem. im not an expert but just tryin to help.

Why wont my nikon coolpix s3300 charge and when i put it on

Your battery has probably expired...;they only take so many charges. Try a new one (before you buy it!)

Doesnt turn on

Are you sure the battery is fully charged? are you sure you did remove the USB cable?
When your camera is still connected to a charger or computer you can't switch it on.
And even fairly new batteries, can stop working.
Try to charge the battery several times, but if after a few attempts nothing changes, I think you need a new battery.

Nikon coolpix s3300, no screen to take pics but screen works fine to view and use the menu

The only possible thing I can find, is the brightness of the screen. Perhaps it is adjusted to complete dark.
You also could try to press the button with the little camera on it. When you have a USB cable connected to the camera, the screen will be blank too. On my Powershot from Canon, there is a display button, when pressing it I can cycle between normal screen, Grid on the screen and screen off. I can't find anything similar in the manual of the 3300, but perhaps there is a function like that on your camera too?

Download driver for nikon coolpix s3300

Do you really need a driver?
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
