My wonderful Coolpix recently seems to be letting in too much light when I go to take a picture..worked fine before

It is mostly due to changing the exposure compensation. You can change it from +2 ....0 ....... -2. +2 Makes it Brighter while -2 makes it darker... On the back of the camera you will see an OK button surrounded by a disk that on the right side shows [+/-]. You use this to change exposure compensation. When you get the camera READY to take a photo you can use that [+/-] button. When you push it you can adjust it to zero (o) normal or to make it lighter or darker.

Nikon S3300 flashes the on/off button but I can't get it to shut off.

If you didn't switch off the camera before removing the card, you have probably corrupted the data on the card.

I have had this camera for two years and never had a problem. Now when I switch it on the screen shows the message, " Memory card is write protected" and the camera will not function.

On the memory card is a slide lock that locks the card from being accidentally written to or erased. embossed with a lock that is unlocked/locked. Somehow this slide lock has been moved to the write protection mode/locked. Could have happened if you removed the memory card lately. Remove the memory card and slide the lock to unlock reinstall the card and that should cure your problem.

Pc will not recognize coolpix s3300 camera

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

The lens does not stay open long enough to pose picture. It closes.

These camera's will do that when the battery is very low sometimes. I'm not sure that is your problem due to lack of more details, but it is a possibility.
