No display just hooking up , and can't get the setup to display on any channel. it won't display on any channel via coaxial or the rca from out1. when i use coaxial and press setup the unit displays CH0026 but nothing on chs 3 or 4 or 91 or 98. when i use rca via out1 the setup displays CH0022 but no display on any channel. the connection setup is ; cable box-dvdr3455h-tv , the cable signal is fine, but cannot use the dvdr3455h. i have tried the PRO SCAN check..OUT1 to TV via RCA ..setup..1168 but no luck.

1. Look at the user manual, typical setups are described. If you don't have your manual anymore, the PDF will be on the Internet, you need the Brand and Model name of your TV.
2. HDMI *can* have an output, HDMI 1.4 supports "Audio return channel (ARC)" - where a digital audio channel sends the audio back from the TV (for soundbars etc.).

Unplug your television and turn the set around so the back of the set is facing you.

2 Disconnect the antenna or cable connection from the television's "VHF," "Antenna In" or similarly worded port if it is connected.

3 Examine your splitter and notice one end of the device has a coaxial port while the other end has two coaxial ports.

4 Plug the coaxial end of the television antenna into one of the two coaxial ports on the splitter.

5 Plug the coaxial cable coming from the cable television connection outlet into the second coaxial port on the splitter. Use the port next to the one you used to plug the television antenna into.

6 Place one end of a 2 foot piece of coaxial cable into the single coaxial port on the splitter.

First make sure you have the cable connected properly.. on the vcr it should be connected to the OUT coaxial connector.

Second.. the VCR usually has a VCR/TV setting..

Most TV's must be set to channel 3 or channel 4 to output the signal from the VCR when getting the signal via Coax.

So..insert a tape...hit play..tune the tv to channel 3 if you are not getting the playback signal..press the VCR/TV button on the vcr or vcr remote.

Repeat this on Channel 4

Check your cable to make sure the connections are tight.

Finally check your television menus for Input settings..make sure it is set to COAX/ANT
Make sure your VCR's output is not on some alternate output like L1 or L2 (line one or line two)

Yes this can be done. You have several options for audio hookup. Stereo 2-channel (white and red) RCA cables, digital audio (optical or coaxial) or HDMI. Your home theater must have the inputs available such as optical, coaxial etc. Typically the stereo 2-channel RCA is the simple way. Just connect from the Bluray audio outputs to the Home theater inputs (white and red) for stereo sound. Select the input on the home theater. For Dolby Digital 5.1 use optical digital audio cable (black port) or coaxial (orange RCA port) from Bluray to similar home theater input.

How to hookup TV

If you have a TV with only a single coax input and you want to hook up components like DVD players and VCRs, here's how to do it.



What you need to connect your DVD player or game players to a TV that only has a VHF/UHF 75-ohm F-connector ("coax antenna input").

1.) RF Modulator with Stereo Audio Inputs.



2.) 6 foot long coaxial cable with male "F" connectors. This cable goes from the modulator to the TV. The modulator also has a coaxial input to plug in your antenna or your VCR.



3.) 6 foot long Video and Audio Cables with "RCA" plugs. The cables connect the yellow, red and white outputs from your DVD or game player to the yellow, red and white inputs of the modulator.





Works with X-Box, PlayStation, Nintendo or other devices that output audio/video via the RCA plugs and you want to connect them to your coaxial only TV.

You need an RF modulator to convert the A/V output (RCA jacks) of the DVD player into a Coaxial cable you can plug into the back of your TV. I'm including a link to one at radioshack.com. This one costs $27.49. You might be able to find a cheaper one at a discount store. You can also use an old VCR if you have one to do this conversion but the connections get a little bit tricky. Get an antenna hooked up, even rabbit ears should pull in a few analog channels. Set top boxes will only output Ch 3 (switcheable to ch 4 on the back if needed) and cable may be dead or only give you scrambled CATV channels. You need to set your tuner to "antenna", not CATV, IRC,HRC, or ATSC (if you have a digital tuner) and do the setup again. You could have a bad tuner at worst, and all is not lost, just hook up a VCR via RCA cables and use the VCR tuner to change channels. Keep TV on Ch3.
