Game freezes after 5-10 mins play time

i got the same problem!!! but i can get past the logo screens if i dont sign in. but then, when i sign in, freezes again....
i even got a new copy same as you... same issue

just bought nhl 10 a couple days ago and started playing 'Be a GM' 24 hours later, when i go to play it the game freezes a lot and i can only play my ahl team but not my team only the opponent team. when i try to put someone on the trading block it also freezes. can anyone give me some advive?

go under settings then system settings then restore default settings

HI, this is an issue that concerns the Hard disk. the Hard drive disk is corrupt. there are sectors that are unreadable at this time. this is a Sony tech repair and, you will need send this unit to Sony for this repair. its normally a 190 dollar repair plus, the shipping charge as well.

Try using a can of air to blow out the fan area. Even though its well ventilated it may be full of dust. It sounds like an overheating issue. Also look into aftermarket fan/cooling solutions, that dont plug directly into the PS3 and have there own outlet power plug.

USE A DISC CLEANER DISC AND TRY OPENENING UR PS2 AND BLOWING IT OUT

If I were you I would contact sony about this. Go to their website, u might hav a virus. I hav had my psp 4 2 years and hav never gotten this problem.

yo dude i have the same problem as u like im playing cod4 wen i exit a match it freezes wen i play guitar hero 2 that also freezes while playing a song i think i know sum ways. its either were playin to much u need to buy 1 of those disks that clean inside the ps3 or any dvds its like a special disk it just goes inside and u play it and it takes like 5 min cuz none of my games have scratches

Check if there is something overheating (inside or on the adapter).
The 'almost' mint condition might have blown a fuse or capacitor or something minor.

If you are brave enough, disassemble the console and look for anything out of place.
