SOURCE: Attached a pump to drain collected water. The

the water should still collect into the tank. the dehumidifier had a float switch that shut the unit off when the tank is full. In turn it should have a second switch, probably a float switch that turns the pump on and off so that the pump doesnt continue to run when there is no moisture in the tank

SOURCE: 50 pt. dehumidifier will not

Nothing worked, because the drain hole to the hose connection is clogged or the hose is clogged. When that happens, water is diverted to the bucket.

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & Unplug the unit.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If none are found, the clog is inside the hose connector.

Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie appropriately sized to fit the hole. Carefully insert the tip of the Zip Tie and continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will have to gingerly work the Zip Tie past the bend, until it bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly remove the Zip Tie while rotating (twisting) it. This will break up any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared as some water that might follow. Even if you don't see any residue from a clog, it may have been pushed out of the way. Reinstall everything, plug the unit in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and take it for a test drive.

Be sure the hose is no longer than 5 feet and that it gradually slopes down and away from the unit. The water drainage relies entirely on gravity.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

SOURCE: My model is Frig. Dehumidifier,

Check the float valve in the top of the bucket. It may be stuck in the UP position. If that the case, jiggle the float valve arm to get it to return to the DOWN position. That should solve the problem.

SOURCE: It collects some water but it also spits water out

The dehumidifier has a non-removable tray under the coils (they look like radiators) that collects and drains the water away. If the tray or drain gets clogged with dirt or slime the water doesn't drain away well. Some water is picked up by the fan and is blown out the vent. Take the covers off the machine and give everything a good cleaning. If you get water on any electrical parts, let the machine dry thoroughly before plugging in.

clean the condenser in the front or the filter if it has one. no air flow to cool it down will result in overheating and no condensation collection across the evaporator coil.

Starts then stops completely showing this type of line - - - - where humidity should be. Cannot turn on or off.

The ---- lines you see, indicates that water collection bucket is not installed properly, as well as the air intake filter may need to be removed and cleaned.

When installing the bucket, be sure that it fit's "squarely" into the holder from top to bottom, so that it makes good contact with the bucket safety removal switch. When installed properly the bottom of the bucket will not tilt down at all.

To clean the filter. turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the bucket and then pull the filter straight down and out. The filter can be vacuumed or if it's really dirty, wash with warm water and mild dish washing detergent. Rinse thoroughly, shake off any excess water and thoroughly dry, before reinstalling. Never operate the unit without the filter in place.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How do I change the air filter

To remove the filter:
1. Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it from the wall receptacle.
2. Remove the water collection bucket and set aside.
3. Just inside the water collection bucket holder at the top, you should see the a plastic frame
behind the front louvers of the unit. It may have a plastic pull tab. That's the filter.
4. Pull it straight down and then remove it from the unit.
5. Wash it in warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and dry thoroughly before
reinstalling it. The filter should be cleaned regularly. NEVER operate the unit without the filter in
place. As this can cause damage to the unit.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Only 3 years old. Fan runs does not collect ANY water. #1 We have it set at Maximum #2 How exactly do we take it apart to clean filter? #3 Clearance space is ok #4 Temperature in basement ok please...

First turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & Unplug the unit.

Depending on the model, (in both cases, the filter is behind the louvers on the front) by removing the water collection bucket and looking up into the water bucket cavity, just behind the louvers, for what will look like a plastic pull tab handle. If you see this, pull it straight down an out.
If the filter is not there, look on the right hand side of the unit, just behind the louvers. There will be a trap door that will flip open, There you will see the plastic frame of the filter. Pull it straight out to remove it.

The filter can be vacuumed or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid, rinse thoroughly and allow it to completely dry, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit with out the filter installed.

Hope this helped you.

If you look above the tubing, there's a little gray nub/cone thing. Slide the tube onto that and it should fix the problem. If you're trying to use the pump instead of the collection bucket, there are good directions in the manual.
