Our Dvr will only record on the channel we are watching. I cannot watch one show and record another? It says I have to be watching the channel I want to record?

For the dual tuner, if you are unsure what this is... please look at the back of the satellite box and see if you have 2 sat in cables. if you do, then you need to reprogram your satellite. if you do not have 2 sat in cables then you would need to contact dtv to get this installed.

Yes.. You have to have a dual tuner. If you do, make sure it is in dual mode. Usually a light on the front of the box will indicate this. Otherwise, you have a single tuner and hence cannot watch one channel and record another. Call DirecTV and tell to send you a dual tuner DVR or Two Room DVR. With this you can tell it to record on one TV while you watch another.

I’m watching live TV and all of a sudden my DVR recording starts recording a show that I previously set a schedule for . I don’t want to stop or cancel the recording but I do want to continue watching live...

If it has dual tuners just change the channel and if not it needs to remain on that channel, sometime the set top will warn you about this before changing the channel. goo luck

Why does my R15-100 DVR Plus not record 2 programs at same time. What can I do to fix it?

When we had the R15 (we have since upgraded) we could record two channels at once with no trouble. You have to have two satellite connections in the back (since it uses a separate tuner for each channel) and you cannot watch a third channel while recording two others - if you're going to watch, you have to watch one of the two shows you're recording.

How do I record two channels at once on a DMR-EX773EB DVD Recorder

I cannot find on online manual for this model. If dual channel recording an actual specification for the model? If it really should be able to record two channels at once then it may be similar to the DishNetwork DVR. It has one input but internally splits and creates two different outputs for two different channels.
Check to see if there is a mode setting for single/dual. You will need to set it to "dual". The Dishnetwork DVR has what it calls TV1 and TV2. You can record to TV1 but cannot watch a different channel on TV1 while it is recording. You CAN however watch and record a different channel on TV2 while TV1 is recording. (and vice versa). You can also record two shows while watching other recorded shows.
I'm guessing that you may need to look for some recording options to be able to record two channels at once.

We cannot watch a show on another channel on other

Hello! Dan Busa here with DISH Network customer service. This is actually how your DVR is supposed to function. A 622 is a dual tuner reciever meaning it's capable of watching or recording two live shows at a time. When you record a show you tie up one tuner, there are two work arounds. You can get an additional dvr receiver or you can set up record preferences and have everything automatically record to tv2.

Shows canceled?

Make sure u have signal on both tuners on the DVR ( check it in your set-up screen). both tuners should have the same siganl strength. Directv's DVRs, if installed correctly, give u the option of recording one channel and watch another, or recording 2 seperate channels( 2 tuners). If you are recording 2 seperate shows and u change the channel one of your recordings will cancel .

DVR recording problems

i am not terribly familiar with these systems but there are probably two sattelite in ports on the back of the receiver, one is a line for watching one program or recording, the other strictly for recording, one of these inputs is probably no longer receiving signal

Tivo and direct tv

No, unfortunately there is not. That tivo only has 1 tuner, so you can only record or watch 1 live program. You can however watch a pre-recorded program while recording a live program. If you have directv, you can step up and get their hr20 dvr. It's not a tivo by any means, but it has 2 tuners so you can record 2 things at once and watch a pre-recorded show. It takes a little while to get used to the interface, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straightforward.

You can also get an older DVR w/ tivo (hr10) however, it will not get ANY of the new MPEG4 High Def channels that are out there.

If you have an hdtv, then you really should grab an hr20, give directv customer retention a call and ask what they can do for you. You'll need a new slimline dish and they'll come out install it and everything you need for watching off the new satellites and enjoying the new mpeg4 hd channels (the old hd channels are in mpeg2).

Good luck.
