I cannot set-up my yahoo mail on N900

Pop Email account setup steps for Nokia N900
  1. Click on the "New Account" and start the 'Account Setup Wizard' by tapping 'Next'.
  2. Select your country/region and service provider or just select 'others' and name the Account.
  3. On the 'Account setup: User details' screen, provide Name, Username, Password and Email address and tap 'Next'.
  4. On the 'Account setup: Incoming Details' screen, select Account type to 'pop3?, provide pop incoming server details, keep the 'secure authentication' option unchecked, and also keep 'Secure connection' to none(of course if you don't want to use secure connection) and tap 'Next'.
  5. On the 'Account setup: Outgoing details', provide outgoing smtp server address, select the 'Secure authentication' to 'Login' option, 'Secure connection' to none and tap 'Next'.
  6. Now you are on 'Account setup: Complete screen', tap the 'Advanced Settings' option and change the default port 25 to whatever port your server requires. Most email servers these days do not use default 25 port, rather 26 but you need to confirm this at your hosting server panel.
  7. Now tap 'Finish' and you are done.
Just send a test email to yourself and if you have setup everything correctly, message will successfully be sent and received.
Hope that helps!

Need to setup email on iphon 3gs. I need step by step info.

Setting up email accountsEmail account setup with Mail is easy. If you're setting up an email account for the first time on iPhone or iPod touch, simply touch the Mail icon on the Home screen. If you're adding an additional account with software version 2.0 or later, touch the Settings icon on the Home screen, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select Add Account.
If you're setting up a Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, Gmail, Yahoo! or AOL account, touch the icons for those services on the Add Account screen and enter your account information. If you're setting up an email account from another provider, select Other. In software version 2.0 or later, Mail can automatically setup many popular POP and IMAP email accounts using just your email address and password.1 As Mail looks up settings that match your email account you may see a note appear that will describe any limitations you may experience in using your email account. If Mail cannot find the settings needed to setup your email account, refer to the documentation from your email provider on how to manually setup an email account.
Syncing email account settings to iPhone
You use iTunes to sync your email account setttings to iPhone or iPod touch. iTunes supports Mail on a Mac, and Microsoft Outlook (2007 or 2003) and Outlook Express on a PC. See article "Syncing iPhone " for further details.

Note: Syncing email account settings to iPhone or iPod touch copies the email account setup, not the messages themselves. Whether the messages in your inbox appear on both iPhone or iPod touch and your computer depends on the type of email account you have and how it's configured. You may need to enter your password on the device after syncing account settings.

I am having problems setting up outlook 2007 for my yahoo.es address.what are the incoming and outgoing mail settings. when I try to do the auto set up it doesnt seem to recognise my network password for...

Here’s how you can read your Yahoo! Mail Plus email using Outlook 2007:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings.

Note: If you do not see Account Settings, place your cursor over the two arrows at the bottom of the list to display more choices.
  2. On the E-mail tab, click New. The Add New E-mail Account dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types checkbox. Click Next. The Choose E-mail Service screen appears.
  4. Select Internet E-mail, and click Next. The Internet E-Mail Settings screen appears.
  5. Complete the fields as follows:
    • Your Name: Type your name as you’d like it to appear when you send an email message.

E-Mail Address: Type your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address (for example, [email protected]).

Account Type: Select POP3 from the pull-down menu.

      Incoming mail server: Type plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com.

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
    • Select the Remember Password checkbox if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
    • Do not select the Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox.
  6. Click More Settings. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  7. Select the Outgoing Server tab:
    • Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
    • Make sure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
  8. Click the Advanced tab:
    • For Incoming Server (POP3), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox. The number in the Incoming Server (POP3) field automatically changes from 110 to 995. If it doesn’t, type 995.
    • In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field, type 465. Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox.
    • Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL from the pull-down menu.
    • If want to keep a copy of your email messages on the Yahoo! Mail server, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want to delete your messages from the Yahoo! Mail server after viewing them in Outlook, leave the box unchecked.
    • If you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and on your computer, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! server after Outlook has downloaded them onto your computer, leave the box unchecked.

Note: After your messages are deleted from the server, we cannot retrieve them.
  9. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  10. Click Next to continue. The Congratulations screen appears.
  11. Click Finish to close the Add New E-mail Account dialog box.
  12. Click Close to close the Account Settings dialog box.

Troubleshooting tips
If you still can’t send Yahoo! Mail from Outlook 2007, you might be accessing the Internet through an ISP that is blocking the SMTP port. If this is the case, try using port 587 when sending email via Yahoo!’s SMTP server. To make this change:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings. The Account Settings dialog box appears.
  2. Double-click your Yahoo! Mail Plus account. The Change E-mail Account dialog box appears.
  3. Click More Settings. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) box, type 587.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  7. Click Next to continue. The Congratulations screen appears.
  8. Click Finish to close the Change E-mail Account dialog box.
  9. Click Close to close the Account Settings dialog box.

Gprs

you will need to ask your service provider to send you the GPRS/WAP settings for your handset.
they will text it to you, and then u save them and it will be listed in
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Default
select that setting and set it to be the default setting and then click on Act. Def. In all applications (this will activate default settings in all applications that use GPRS)

or if u knew the access point settings and all, u can add a manual setting and make that as default.
