How much oil and popcorn kernels to use in gold medal machine
We have a school fundraiser coming up on Saturday and have no idea how much oil or kernels to use in the Gold Medal popcorn machine. Can someone please advise? Thank you

Try one ounce of oil, 1/2 teaspoon popcorn salt and 1/2 cup of popcorn and see how much it fills your machine and adjust quantities from there. This will usually fill a wok size bowl.

do you put a half a teaspoon of oil in first before the corn kernels
other than that have the unit checked by an electrical appliance shop for problem thermostat or heating element
A kettle not heating is either a switch, kettle wires, thermostat, or kettle heater.
Check that the kettle is plugged in tight, notice if the switch lights up when switched, then contact your local gold medal dealer for repairs. It is always cheaper to repair a gold medal kettle than replace.

Generally, you want 3 oz. of corn to one 1oz of oil. The amount of corn you can put in the kettle depends on the size of the kettle. So take the kettle size, (I think that machine is an 8 oz popper) and divide 8 by three to get 2.66 oz. (about a third of a cup) of oil needed. So you would use 1 cup of corn, and a third cup of oil.
There are many ways that this could have caused your problem! Too much popcorn kernels put into bucket!....somthing in the bucket that is causing it too stick! (I would never put salt or any other seasoning in the maker untill popcorn has dropped) anso the heat from the maker itself can cause warping of the metal parts inside over time! I cant tell you what parts to order because i dont know the model number,But If you have all the pats somone of little skill should be able to fix it for you by bending it back into place and putting it back together and trying it! If not come back with the model # and we can help with the parts!

THANK YOU!
The problem you are having is the thermostat inside the kettle is getting weak these can be ordered from Star Manufacturing or a concessions supply place that does repairs Also Gold Medal Product has a similar thermostat that will work in your kettle pt# 47082 Just a FYI
