Turn off the computer, open the case, and make sure the connection to the CD Drive that goes to the motherboard is connected and not pulled out or loose.
Are you getting power to the CD player, is there a light and can you open the drawer with power on?Turn off the computer, open the case, and make sure the connection to the CD Drive that goes to the motherboard is connected and not pulled out or loose.

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/http://67.20.82.163/
Restart the process again...insert the cd in to the cd rom..restart the computer then you will see a screen which says press ant key to boot from cd...press space bar..the installation will start from the point where it was left when you received the blue screen...
If the blue screen is coming again and again then contact any local tech there might be some hardware issue.
Also make sure while installatng the windows there is no extra peripheral attached with the computer like printer, webcam, mass storage device etc.
In almost every prebuilt computer there is something called a recovery partition. All you need to do is boot off this and you can reinstall windows. To boot off it, look for something along the lines of "Select Boot Device" on the screen when you restart your computer. There should be an F key next to it. Restart your computer and press that F key. Then select the recovery partition which will be labeled or will be the smallest. Once this loads up follow the on screen instructions and you will be on your way to reinstalling windows and formatting your computer. Be sure to back up everything before doing this as it will erase all the files that you currently have on that hard drive.
boot into safe mode and run CMD.exe and type in CHKDSK and run that program to fix any errors. If there still is a problem. Grab the CD in your computer came with and install it. What I mean by that, is insert a disk into CD-ROM drive. Before turning off computer. Turning on computer and booting from CD to fix any errors. If that doesn't work reinstall Windows. If your PC meets the minimum specifications ie 1Ghz CPU and 1Gb of Ram then it should be able to run Windows 7. You can try repairing the installation by following the instructions below :
Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
Press a key when you are prompted.
Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
Click Repair your computer.
Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
The computer should automatically give you an option for startup repair, if not proceed with step 7
In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
When the repair is done remove the Windows 7 disc and reboot the PC.
seems like the laptop is not starting from the cd, you can either enter the setup / bios to change that setting OR right when you power up the computer look at the screen it will say what button to press in order to enter bios thats one way to solve the problem but look for Boot menu, it will very likely be button F12 or similiar, it should say on the screen when you power on.
if it doesnt, then you need to go into the bios and change the boot order so that the computer starts from the CD first.
after that you should be able to start from the cd and install xp.
Tried that
It does not show cd only hard drive and the cd is first
Yes there is light on the cd rom when it starts up
