Tried to recover bios using the support cd, and after cd was found and file was read, flashing was started, then computer turned off, and now when computer is turned on there is no screen on monitor, and computer just beeps. what went wrong and what can i do?

If you look on any support/bios update forum/website, you will find that flashing the bios is very risky. The reason it's risky is because of what you just described.
While flashing the bios, the bios chip memory is deleted and then the new bios is written. If you lose power, system crashes, or anything that interrupts the flashing process, the chip is rendered useless.
The computer turned off while flashing, and the reason there is no screen is because there is no bios to load. There is no way to reverse this or repair it.
If you are handy with a soldering iron and are confident with electronic components, you may be able to pick up another bios chip on the internet, but you will have to solder it to the board yourself.
Otherwise it's a new motherboard.

Hi, there are a couple of solutions you may try.
Using the support cd that comes with the mobo.
Remove any floppy disk from the floppy drive.
Turn on your pc.
Insert the support cd to the cd rom drive
If it works the application will be update the bios.
When it finishes restart your pc.
Had same deal recovery finished than no picture on monitor.what i found after many hours of pulling my hir out.it dawned on me that support cd had older bios on it.that it probably didnt support my cpu.so i put older cpu in it got boot screen back.than flashed bios to new version and put new cpu back in.all started when i tried to update bios and it failed
There is a bug in the BIOS refreshing procedure. It does not verify itself to make sure the BIOS is really updated.
You need to pick out the BIOS, ie: the EEPROM, with an EEPROM ejection tools or a small screwdriver carefully from the socket. Program the EEPROM with the updated BIOS downloaded from Asus website, using the EEPROM programmer, such as ALL-07. Put it back in the socket, matching with the cut at the EEPROM's corner. Then, turn on the power and check. The POST should come up again.

i have the same problem too. the beep sound is 1 long 2 short. no screen display. How the motherboard come to this situation? i just put the support CD in the ROM and start the EZ flash utility. the utility starts and searchs for the floppy but no floppy inside. then it searchs the CD immediately. it finds the BIOS P5S800VM.ROM which is dated 25-Oct-04. it then updates without asking for confirmation or backup. after a while, it finishs and shows successful and rebooting message. however, it cannot reboot itself. after a min, i press the reset button to let it reboot. then, the motherboard is death.
it should have an utility called "crashfree BIOS 2". however, it cannot be started. so, nothing can be done.
How can the BIOS provided in the support CD works like that! Why the "Crashfree BIOS 2" cannot help to recover! How come the EZ flash utility runs without any confirmation!
