Sentry safe, enter codes and nothing

My sentry S3877 safe, will not unlock. I enter my code and factory code, and the red led blinks 3 times and beeps on both. I changed the batteries, and the pins came out, (safe is open), and they will not go back in.

Thank you for your response, but what you told me is right in the user manual. I was hoping for a trick or tip to reset the electronics back to oem state.

Hi again, If there was a trick or tip we don't post it. We go by the book on items like this as anyone who ever stole a safe is looking for ways to get in it. I suspect that you reset it accidentally by pushing on the lock face after changing the batteries which would pop out the pins. So you now need to enter the proper sequence to unlock it. Since you have the book you have as much info as you need to get it unlocked since it is open. Good Luck, let me know how you do.

Hi, These are the reasons for the the error you are getting. Red (Error) LED + three beeps indicates one of the following:
    1. You have pressed Program key out of sequence.
    2. You have entered an invalid code or user pin.
    3. You have let 5 seconds or more elapse between
    key presses.
    4. Lights after three consecutive invalid codes are input ( 2 min delay mode)
Don't forget when you do get a green light you have to turn the handle. If you need the sequence, let me know.

These safe are easily opened by a good locksmith. So if you have items in the safe you need to get out a safe and vault tech could drill it open and repair it for a small fee. I really don't think it is the chip probably just a stuck solinoid.

Motorola IC #MC68HRC705 will not reset. Chip is most likely bad. Time to throw this safe out...Thanks for your answers. George

I have a Sentry Safe S3877 both lights are on the red error light and the green proceed light. I enter passcode and nothing happens. How do I get by this?

might help

Here are the things that can cause that:
Red (Error) LED + three beeps indicates one
of the following:
1. You have pressed Program key out of sequence.
2. You have entered an invalid code or user pin.
3. You have let 5 seconds or more elapse between
key presses.
4. Lights after three consecutive invalid codes are input
(2-minute delay mode).

Perhaps when you changed batteries the internal memory did not completely erased and the factory mode is not in place (even if they say the factory number should work at any time). Try to let the safe without battery for a whole hour.

If this don't work, you will have to contact them at:
http://www.sentrysafe.com/customerCare/Contact_SentrySafe.aspx
You will probably have to give them your serial number.

Of course, because an easy to open safe would not be useful in the first place, they have that policy about code:
http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/s-24841635/cmd/kbresource/kb-5562978334380845442/view_question!PAGETYPE?sf=101133&documentid=195374&action=view
But if you did try the code on the top of the manual and it's not working they might still help you as it's not as if you completely lost it

How can i drill a hole into my keepsafe wall safe to open it?

Keep the drill motor in the toolbox, you'll likely just ruin the safe.

Go here instead: https://www.sentrysafe.com/CustomerCare/Lost_Your_Combination

There are 3 possible ways to unlock and access
the safe:
1. Factory code
(Found on the first page of the factory guide) You can
always open the safe by entering the pre-set 5-digit
factory code. This code cannot be deleted.
2. User code
If you prefer to employ your own code, you can
program the safe to open using a 5-digit user code
of your choice.
3. User pin
If you wish to give someone else temporary access
to the safe, you can program a 5-digit user pin that
can later be erased.
Programming the user code
NOTE: One (1) user code is allowed.
To add:
1. Press the Prog key , then enter the 5-digit
factory code.
2. Enter the 5-digit user code of your choice.
To delete:
1. Press the Prog key.
2. Enter the 5-digit factory code twice.
Programming user pin
NOTE: One (1) user pin is allowed.
To add:
1. Press the Prog key 2 times.
2. Enter your 5-digit user code.
3. Enter the 5-digit user pin of your choice.
To delete:
1. Press the Prog key 2 times.
2. Enter your 5-digit user code.
3. Enter 0, 0, 0, 0, 0.
NOTE: If your safe does not appear to be working,
please check batteries before calling Sentry
Customer Care.

A1 Locksmith Burlingame CA Once you get the error light that means you are entering a user code that was deleted when the batteries went dead . Simply replace the batteries then use the master code in your owners manual to open the safe. Reprogram new user code instructions bottom of this page.

How do I open a sentry s3877 safe when the battery is dead and safe is closed

The factory code combination to your electronic lock will remain in the memory of the unit - even if the batteries go dead. Any use programmed codes will be lost if the batteries lose power. The Sentry programmed factory code is always your default code.

If you do not know your factory code, you can follow this link for your combination retrieval:

I need to change the combination on my sentry S 3517

Locksmiths recommend
two ways to program a user code.A
1. Press the Program key.
2. Enter the Factory Code. The green LED remains ON while you enter the 5-digit user code of your choice.
After 5 digits are entered the green LED turns OFF.
(To enter a new User Code, repeat these steps.)
B 1. Press the red button inside the safe. The lock will “beep” and the green LED will come on.
2. Enter a 5-digit user code. (To enter a new User Code, repeat these steps.)
Keep your new user code secure.

When i put my last digital number in the red light comes on and error blinks i have a safe with the key and then you put 5 digits in and turn the lever then it opens the sentry safe A5 406618

When the red light blinks that means you are entering the wrong code. If your batteries went dead the safe delets the user code Check your owners manual for the default factory code number. Programing instructions.
