MY GARMIN 260 gps gives wrong information on non existing rounderbouts on highway,freeway ramps,and destinations, showed arrival flag and map when 40 ks away from town

You need to download the map to your compute rather than the SD card. When downloading the default destination is the satnav but you can change it to your computer. When it's installed to your computer you then click the windows START button and in the list of programs you'll find a GARMIN folder with a program called MAPINSTALL. Connect the satnav to your computer with the SD card in. Run MAPINSTALL and select the SD card as the destination.

Note maps installed to SD cards do not always work with Garmin Nuvis. To give it every chance of success please follow the instructions at the above link about formatting the SD card.

Sure and your doing the correct thing good thinking, always check the route before you go there are way to many ways to get there....

When you input the destination let it calculate then press the green bar on top where it says which way to turn.... it will then let you see which way its traveling, you can arrow down turn by turn or on bottom of screen press show map and give you the route highlighted with a green flag and checkered flag

Have you checked to make sure that the map is checked "ON"?

If the map is not checked "ON", you will only be getting the Base Map information (major highways - no street detail) and you wont be able to search for places of Interest (POI's).

you can set the types of roads you want the unit to follow. Highways or otherwise.

When you select your destination, before you select go there is an option for map at the bottom of the screen. That will show you the entire route.

When you have the screen showing up the route to your destination, if you touch the box down in the left hand corner showing the estimated arrival time the screen should switch to show your current speed, max speed, compass etc.........

Press the wrench/tools symbol at the main menu. The select "SYSTEM", make sure you have the "Automobile" mode selected.  Any other will try to take you on every non-freeway route it can.

Hit the side of the Garmin a few times while it is on. I did this to mine, and now I can see the screen like before.

Concerning this issue, GARMIN is already advise and the next update will correct this.

If you really want to go back to 4,10 but that IS not recommended to prevent any bugs , contact GARMIN and they will give you hand to go back.
