SOURCE: Dell 3100cn Printer will not print
I had to actually change the settings in Microsoft Word to resolve this problem.
If you go to page setup > paper source > there should be lists for "first page" and "other pages".
You can set this to "as per printer settings" and hopefully it should work.

the print job may be too large for the available printer memory.
Your choices are one of the following:
Press to clear the message, cancel the current print job, and conduct the next print job, if any.
· Press Cancel to cancel the current print job.
· Press Menu to open the Stored Print and delete the current job.
To avoid this error in the future, do the following:
· Reduce the number of print pages such as splitting the print data.
· Increase free memory space by deleting unnecessary data in the RAM disk.
As for the RAM disk:
When you send a job to the printer, you can specify in the driver that you want the printer to hold the job in memory.
Whenyou are ready to print the job, you must go to the printer and use theoperator panel menus to identify which job in the memory you want toprint. You can use this function to print a confidential job (SecurePrint), or verify one copy before printing additional copies (ProofPrint).
NOTE: The printer holds the job until you delete it byusing the operator panel or you turn off the printer. (This is the RAMdisk)
NOTE: Print and Hold functions require a minimum of 320 MBavailable printer memory. Also, you need to configure the RAM disksettings on either the OPERATOR PANEL OR THE PRINTER DRIVER.
NOTE: Depending on the documents, its job may be too big for the available memory. In this case, an error occurs.
RAM disk is an option for that printer, but most users do not have thatoption, and if you accessed the menu for the 3100 on most of themachines in use you would receive that same error.
Although the printer itself shows " ready to print", this does not meanthat your computer is communicating with the printer. In Fact, thatmessage would show up even if you did not have it attached to anycomputer, as long as it was turned on and passed the self test.
More then likely the problem lies within the computer, NOT the printer.
To test the printers functionality, try printing a menu item, from the"reports" menu. Select either the printer settings, or the PCL Fontsreport. When selected, the printer should print which ever report youselected.
One thing you may want to check is to see if there are any print jobs "locked up " in the print spooler on your computer, and also make surethat the printer is not set to "work offline".
To do this, open the control panel, go to your "printers" folder, then double click on your printer.
This will open up the printer information for that printer. If there are any jobs in the print queue, they will show up here.
if there are any print jobs stacked up, usually it is the top job thathad a problem and is "stuck". This will prevent any job sent after thatto be held, pending release of that one.
single click the top job and either restart the job, or delete it.
Also, make sure that the printer is not set to work offline by clickingon "printer" from the menu and ensure that work offline is not checked.
Take this link and print it out. It will help you later when you get "other" error messages.

SOURCE: We are getting error code 004-332 Restart Printer
Hi
This error code on Dell 3100CN occurs when toner cartridges are not seated properly and/or are not properly locked in. Turn off the printer and unplug it. Now, you need to open the front door and pull out the drum. Try moving the carousel and check if it moves freely. While moving the carousel back and forth try adjusting the cartridges. try to unlock the cartridges and lock them again.
Now turn off the printer and turn it on after 1-2 min.s.

You're having a problem with your drum unit. You need to start by getting yourself a new drum unit. Then remove the drum. turn the printer off and on. when it asks for the drum,
install the new one. if that does not help, call support (1-877-459-7298) and they will
probably replace the drum.
