Sounds like maybe you have a sleep timer activated?  There should be an option to reset the tv back to factory reset, this might help you.

The main board of your TV is bad. I have seen a lot of TVs have the same problem.

my panasonic TH50PC77U is shutting down by itself. It clicks after about 30 secs and I can turn it back on but until then there is no way to turn it on. Just started today. Is doing it every 1 - 2 hours. Any suggestions??

STOP!

The unit has a fault on its power board and sustain board.
It turns off because the sensor is preventing some component from bacoming overheated and catching fire or damaging further components. Seel professional repair.
