My RCA DVR-40 Directv receiver will not make any telephone calls to any of the Directv telephone numbers in my entire state. Each time it tries to call, it dials and then I get a message that says "Service is not answering" and the unit hangs up. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? Thank you.
According to the Tivo support, make sure you add a comma after the *70 to disable call waiting. I've been trying to fix this for months... one comma and it works fine.
If you haven't done so recently, go into Set Up and download a new list of phone numbers. I had to do this a few months ago. and it solved the problem.
I believe you have to slow the modem speed down. contact directv 800-531-5000 on instructions how to slow the modem speed. tell them you are getting "service not answering" hope this helps!
