Not cooling Unit is getting electricity but not cooling

Check unit's ID#'s and add any hyphens, etc or separate letters, numbers, to be exactly what's on unit.

Your refrigerator is a ammonia unit that boils the ammonia for it cool the box. It has a electric heat element inside the metal box you see when you look at the back of the unit. It is VERY important that you have the unit level in all directions before you use the unit., otherwise you will kill the cooling system.
As far as how to start the system first make sure that both the roof vent and the vent in back are clear. Turn the electric on to the unit and a light should show that the unit is on. turn the thermostat to the coldest setting. In a half a hour the freezer section should start to be cold. If not then you see if the back of the unit is heating up.
If it still cold in the back you should try operating it on gas. just follow the lighting instructions. If it heats up but still does not cool then the cooling is bad. It would be cheaper to by a new unit then fixing the old one.

When operating on Electric, if the rear of the cooling coils get warm and the fridge is level, but the refrigerator does not get cold then it is more then likely your cooling unit that has failed. When running on Electric insure that the rear coils of the cooling unit are getting warm. If the refrigerator is level and the coils are warm and the refrigerator does not cool then you more then likely will require a replacement cooling unit. my domestic refrg will not work on electric but will lite on gas. freezer will get cold on gas but bottom will not cool.you can plug refrg in and it will kick the gas off. you unplug refrg on gas will lite.that part of the power board seems to be working.

Every air conditioner has a motor called a compressor. The compressor provides the cooling capacity for the air conditioner. If the compressor or its electrical controls are defective the compressor may try to start, fail, and create an electrical overload. If the unit does create an overload, every compressor circuit is also equipped with an overload safety switch. The safety switch is designed to protect the compressor from burning out. The safety switch will cut the power to the compressor for a certain length of time and then reset itself. When it resets it will allow the electricity to flow to the compressor once again. If the compressor then starts, the unit should function normally. If the compressor doesn't start when the overload resets, the overload will again cut the electricity to the compressor. This cycle will continue indefinitely. (Always allow three to five minutes before restarting the compressor.) If this situation is occurring, unplug the air conditioner and get help from a qualified repair technician. This problem is often fatal to the air conditioner because the cost of repair often exceeds the price of a new air conditioner...

Check to see if the adjustment for the refrigerator department to let cool air in from the freezer department didn't get inadvertently closed.

This sounds like you have a block inthe cooling unit. The only way to repair this is to replace the cooling unit or replace the refer. Sorry this is not good news but this happens
