Sounds like you have a siphon problem.check your drain hose and make sure it is up at least to the head of machine and make sure it is not a tight fit.

SOURCE: kenmore top load (model # 110 82370120) drain problem

Good AM. I see here that you have a fairly old belt drive Kenmore washer. The real problem with these is that the parts for them are so very expensive anymore to get. A timer (which you may be needing) will run you around $100.00 to $175.00 depending on where you live. Very expensive repairs on these, but if you want to go for it, here are some hints to help. Sounds like you have one of three problems. First off PLEASE UNPLUG YOUR MACHINE BEFORE WORKING ON IT. Your timer may have lost or has a stuck contact inside (unrepairable in most cases) which is making it do something is shouldnt be doing in that area of the timer. This would probably be the most expensive of your repair. The next thing is it could be the water level switch could be going bad. This one is highly doubtful since it fills and stops filling, but I have heard (but never have seen) that they can short out sometimes and cause wacky operation. Both these issues can be fixed by remove the console rear panel and front knobs to remove both. The next item could be a defective wig-wag in the bottom of the unit. One of the positioning solinoids maybe going bad and sending bad signals back to the timer.

None of these problems are really hard to fix. And truthfully (even though some of these guys will be mad) you can sometimes find these parts on ebay for a halfway good price. Part numbers for each are:

Timer: 381860
Water Level Switch: 359712
Wig-Wag: 89814

Good luck with this one, and if you know how to use one, try to run resistance with an ohm-meter on your wig-wag to be sure your getting power flow through the soilnoids (you will have 2, be sure to unplug the solinoids before testing to be sure its a true test) before replacing.

SOURCE: washing machine

this clicking of the timer tells you there is a fault somewhere, this could be anything, you have to check things i would do them in this order check the heater element, most common fault second the pump but you said that works then check the motor that drives the drum belt look at the motor control board for any signs of burning etc, this could indicate a motor fault you have not given much info, but with a fault like this thats all you can say, i have given you a brief starting point what and where to look, so happy hunting if i can be of further help get back to me

SOURCE: indesit w93 washing machine fills with water but doesn't start washing

Hi there. I have an old model, the indesit WM12. Never counted the flashing light (yours was 10) but my dial started clicking constantly at the drain part. I called Idesit and they told me it was a blockage in the filter.
The filter they speak of it located, on mine, at the front of the machine at the very bottom on the right. It is a black dial about 3 - 4 inches in diameter. Unscrew that anti-clockwise (a real pain because so much water comes out. My wife and I unscrewed it, filled a baking tray with water, screwed it back up, emptied / substituted tray then same all over again - until empty. Though putting it on drain again and again helped at same time). When I pulled out the filter found a 'colour catcher' sheet in it. We used them first time ever the other day. Removed that, gave filter a wee clean and, hey presto, all is working again. Hope that helps. Jim

SOURCE: washer won't fill

On the drain valve there must be some dirt that does not let the valve close or the valve must be defective and needs to be replaced. By the way you did not mention the make of the washer.

SOURCE: fill will not stop

you may have a problem with your pressure switch. or sometimes they call it the water level switch.

try to use it in the small level and see if it would stop filling around medium or large quantities of water.

if it would stop filling , then replace the water level sensor.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Smart Drive machine on starting, water runs straight through into drain, thus not filling up

Most likely the water coming into the washer through the Water Inlet Valve could be siphoned out to the drain pump and out the drain hose because of an issue with the pump or plumbing. Is your washer overfilling? Is the washer detecting an overheat error? Observe carefully as to what part of the washing cycle the water is draining out. By watching the washer as it goes through its wash cycle, you can find out which part or error is causing the Washing Machine To Not Fill With Water and Keep Draining issue.

Water doesnt stop fillinG in panasonic NA F60A6 WASHING MACHINE

Fyi. All new washing maching already tested on their functionality and features but not test run with water intake and drain function. I would like to share My experience last time with this model. The water outlet valve will release by motor when you set to drain mode.it suppose manage to retract back by spring when drain process finish or afte small you change to wash mode.
Take a look on the spring movement.normally it not properly hold valve switch hence the retracted spring not block the valve to stop water drain. Just rectify the alignment of the valve swich which directly connected to the retractable spring.

Roper washer leaks when filling

It's in the drain hose somewhere, during the fill the water gets as deep in the drain hose as it does in the washer, during the wash the pump runs in reverse keeping the water level in the hose low, during the drain the hose is filled again.
Prop the washer up in front on a couple bricks or boards, start putting in water until it starts to leak and take a peak under the machine.

be sure your drain is nearly to the top of the washer if it is you may need to try a siphon break

AWO3561 washing machine- FH keeps showing on the machine, we have changed pipes and filters but still the machine does not work. water fills machine but water continues draining through the outlet as it is...

Please refer to your owners manual in the installation section. The drain pipe probably needs to be as high as the height of the control panel. or 36 inches.

If the drain hose is lower you have a siphon problem, the machine fills and the drain is lower the water just runs to drain.

If this is not the problem you may have a control problem and the control is running the pump.

Ask if you have more questions.

My washing machine is stuck on filling up with water it wont wash

If it keeps filling and overflows you need to check the water level switch and hose. If it keeps filling but doesn't leak out the you drain hose is too low or too far down the drain.
