What kind of TV is it? In the old days of CRT TVs if you put a strong magnet next to the screen, it slightly magnetizes the screen and corrupts the picture. Many TVs had built in "Degause" ability so look in the manual or download the manual to check.
If it is a LCD it could be damage to the screen. Many LCDs will distort the picture when pressure is applied to the LCD screen. This is usually not fixable except to replace the screen. If the LCD screen is being twisted in some way, like a warped cabinet or something pushing on it, that MIGHT be fixed. Remove the pressure if possible and it might help.
Try taking off the yellow disks on the bottom of the players. Also, take the skating rink off and examine if the belt is turning the main gear around. It could be slipping.
If you do that, would you kindly examine the magnet which runs the player around the rink. I am at a loss as to what keeps the tension of that magnet against the pattern which is on top of the main gear. A picture would be great. If so, please send to [email protected] Thanks
hello janiemclauri!
guess you have a picture tube tv, right? this magnet called degaussing magnet, has to be connected on mains and then put close to screen and move away with cyclic moves... try to look at ebay.
regards
Hello. Here are the steps:
1.put your hands in the form like you would if you are about rub your hands together for warmth 2.Put the magnet between both hands at the palm areas 3.rub your hands together and turn the magnet so that the north and south ends magnetize the TV simultaneously 4.make sure you know where the north and south ends are located on the magnet 5.Hint - The Constant switching between the north and south polarizations causes the magnet to equalize the magnetized areas on the TV returning it to it's original color! Regards, Joe PS kindly rate my answer. thank you.
Maybe you have some kind of magnetic material on top of the TV. TV screens respond to magnetic field. If the problem is not caused by a magnetic material being near it, then it is the degauss (meaning demagnetize) circuit inside. You can also degauss a screen using electromagnet. If placed around the screen of the TV in the right way. I have never used a magnet to demagnetize a TV screen, but maybe orienting the magnet at just the proper angle may also demagnetize it by cancelling the magnetized area. You can also make a TV screen demagnetizer using a loop maybe made out of plastic tube and winding enamelled wire onto it. The loop has to be about the size of your TV screen. Make sure you put tape over the whole thing, and connect a plug so you can plug it to the ac outlet. Once plugged in, the ac current will produce magnetic field to cancell out the magnetized area, when you wave the loop around your screen. I once made this as one of my tools when I worked at a TV repairshop.
i have had similar problems before for me it was caused by a strong magnet on the floor below me. i suggest looking around for a strong magnet that could cause the problem
First thing I would try is a degaussing coil. The problem was not caused by the speakers in the TV (they are magnetically shielded) but by some kind of external magnetic field, like speakers or refrigerator magnets. Could also explain the picture shift, if it's severe enough and someone used a strong magnet. You can find degaussing coils here:

They usually come with some basic instructions. You can also make your own and instructions for using one can be found at the same place:

When the colors are off around the edges on a regular picture tube TV, it usually means that the degaussing thermistor's solder joints have cracked loose. Another possible cause is that a strong magnet, such as in a stereo speaker, was brought very close to the picture tube and has magnetized the tube. Resoldering the solder joints on the degaussing thermistor and demagnetizing the picture tube should put the color back to normal.
You mentioned the Magnet possibility,
check around its location or move it to another site.
Check also cabling where it runs and connections
swap USB connectors or even if you have other USB stuff running that you could do with out.
Its all a process of elimination before you have to decide to bin it.
