TV doesn't turn on

When turning on the TV, the power light goes from red to amber and you can hear the TV powering up. The other light that normally turns on (with the light bulb sign) doesn't turn on. Then the after about 10 seconds the TV goes back to powered down mode. TV is approximately 5 years old. Please Help

tv doesn't go on period. The red light that signifies there is power isn't on. It was working fine, and a few hours later, it won't go on. Changed outlets, checked the power cord, all good. TV is esentially dead. It's only 5 yrs old.

Three year old LG DLP TV--stopped being able to turn it on two days ago. Orange lite blinks and set sounds like it is powering up, then lite stops blinking and red power lite glows. That's it. Help. (Checked all power sources, remote batteries, cable hookups, etc., etc.)

When the TV is on there is a green light and an orange light on at the bottom then it switches off and a red light comes on.When try to switch it back on it makes a lot of noise then if it does go back on its only briefly then same thing happens again.

I have same problem that power light flashes 5 seconds- tv makes a bunch of noise, then shuts down. I've had it repaired 3 times under warranty (apparently the ballast goes and that also burns the lamp out!) and it just happened again! My warranty is up now and I don't think it's worth fixing. I won't buy LG again. This one's going in the dumpster.

My 52in LG is 2.5 yrs old. It will not turn on. I have the 4yr insurance policy. I started the repair process 2 months ago. A technician came to look, said it could be the power supply. He ordered a new one from LG. LG said it would ship in 6 weeks. The 6 weeks ended yesterday. Technician called me and said he called LG about the part. LG says the part is now on back-order for another 5-6 weeks. Fact is, it cannot be ascertained that the power supply is the problem until one is put in. What if it still doesn't work? What does my $400 insurance policy get me? This TV is a lemon and I don't want to wait another day. HELP!!!!!!

50px1d-uc When I try to turn it on, the red power light blinks, I hear a click, then the light turns amber then back to red. Usually I'd hear the click then it would turn green and the tv would work...

I came across this in a manual
-Without CableCARDTM : Illuminates red in
standby mode, Illuminates green when the
TV is turned on.
-Inserting the CableCARDTM : Illuminates
orange in standby mode, Illuminates green
when the TV is turned on....
You might want to check your cable card. It seems to mimic your problem. Try taking the card out and gently clean, with a dry cloth, the contacts/strip. Then take some "canned air" and blow out the card socket from the side to dislodge any accumulated debris.

TV doesn't turn on

You really should give make & model number when posting, it helps us immensely, your lamp and possibly the ballast is bad, start with a new lamp first, odds are very good that it will fix your problem, can`t help more without manufacturer and model number, good luck, ps, order the original lamp, generics are junk and a waste of your money.
