My new kindle keeps freezing and has to be reset. It always resets with no problem, but it makes me nervous that it does this so often. Any suggestions to what is causing this?
In most cases, to avoid freezing, keep battery charged and turn off wireless when it's not being used. To properly reset, hold power switch to the right for 15 seconds.
Resetting the device is not a bad thing, most electronic devices need it to be done. It can be annoying, but it's not fatal.
I would keep track of how many times you need to reset the device. Once the amount get over a few times per day, honestly, I would call Kindle Support. They've got the necessary software to look further into your Kindle.

True, if it doesn't freeze more than once or twice a week put up with it, but if it get's worse and amazon doesn't help you, you may need a new logic board, there are kindle repair websites that guide you through the repair step by step, but you should have done something like this before, there are also third party amazon kindle repair places that can do it for you.

My Kindle keeps deciding to throw me out of whatever I'm reading. It returns to the home screen, & forgets where I was reading. It will do this about once per minute when it gets in the mood. Powering off the device (quick, 4 seconds, 20 seconds) makes no difference. After awhile, it starts to behave itself, for reasons no more apparent than why it got into this little snit in the first place.
This behaviour takes much of the pleasure out of using the device.
