You need to squeeze the rings together to get them started into the cylinder that's all. You can do that with a tin can. Cut the top and bottom out of a can that has no ripples. slit it down the side. Wrap it around the piston rings and use a hose clamp to compress the rings enough to get them in. you will find that you cannot put the clamp too tigh because you need the piston to slide out of it. Oh, BTW oil the tin can so the piston slides out easier.
