Plunger extended and blowing air in framing nailer
Air leaking out of head and driver extended indicates that the cylinder seal is bad and or the head valve is sticking or stuck in the head. Easy to check by removing the head and looking at the large plastic seal on top of the cylinder. If seal looks good, pull out the head valve and lube with white grease. Parts are here :
Good luck
Leaking air out yhe head of the gun won't
The o ring inside the top of the gun is worn. This is a part you can order through an authorized dealer, OR you can take that o ring with you to your favorite big box store and find a 5pack of the same size for about 1/4 of the price! Just unscrew the screws on top of the gun and the top will come off exposing that o ring- it may be in pieces. if there isn't enough of it left to take with you, you can take a measurement.
What part of a round head framing nailer is
you need to put in about 6 drops of air tool oil into the air fitting before use and about the same if you break for lunch. You don't want to put oil anywhere else because it will attract dirt. You should also do the same if the gun is not used for awhile and fire it to cycle the oil into the o rings.
Breather Valve
The Porter Cable FR350A has a head valve (PN A08650) and a trigger valve (PN A08368) but no part called a breather valve. What is your question?
Senco brad gun plunger will not retract
When the driver doesn't retract it's because you have worn or broken o-rings inside the gun, usually the o-rings on the lower half of the cylinder or the piston ring. You'll have to take the gun apart to see what's wrong inside. In your heading you state you have a Porter Cable framing nailer, then below you say it's a Senco brad gun so I don't know what parts to recommend. It's best to buy a rebuild kit and replace all the o-rings at the same time if one's available for your gun.
How do you oil a round head framing nailer model #
Next time that you are in Lowes/or other contractor store, notice that there are several brands of nail gun oil sold in the tool department. Bostitch, Paslode, Campbell Hausfeld just to name a few brands of oil that are sold. You can buy any of these or just buy non detergent motor oil. From five to ten drops in the air inlet twice a day depending on use. For best lubrication however, purchase an inline oiler and install at the gun or close. Here are two examples: Plews/Edelmann Inline Tool Oiler 41101 or Porter-Cable PF254 (there are many other brands all costing about 10 to 20 dollars). These oilers hold a few days supply of oil and enter the gun in an oil mist rather than drops all at once. No matter what method you use to oil your gun, every now and then store the gun hanging with the air inlet pointing down so that the access of oil and water (debris) will run out of the gun. Every time that you connect the air line, debris that happens to be in the hose will enter the gun. After long term use of the gun, there will be an accumulation of debris in the gun that will begin to effect the action of the gun.
My nail gun doesn't seem to want to work at
Assuming no air leaks. The headvalve of this nailer tends to stick in the head due to tight fitting orings. Remove the head and press in the headvalve with your thumbs. If stuck, apply air pressure to vent hole on the machined edge of the cap and lube the orings with silicone paste lube (sold at Lowes in the plumbing department). If silicone paste is not available, use nailer oil and re-install valve/head for test.
Blows air out the top of gun won,t pressurize to
getting that screw out isn't going to help. You have a broken seal or o ring in the cylinder area. You need to remove the 4 bolts that hold the cap in place. You might want to take pics of the disassembly or you can also go to "dewaltservicenet.com" for a breakdown.
Why do these guns require paper over plastic heal
The problem is that the nails could jam or misfire. On some plastic strip nails (brands), a piece of the plastic will prevent the nails from moving into proper position and misfire (forceing you to pull the pusher back and release against remaining nails, this sometimes makes the nails bunch-up). No big deal, try using various brands of nails and use the one that works for you. To make sure that the nails will work, place a strip of nails on the outside of the rails and align the first nail to the path of the driver, notice if the remaining nails align with the rails. The nails should enter the rails easily and the pusher should easily move the nails forward (do not let the pusher slam against the nails). Some nails will tend to jam when there are only a few nails left (keep the feeder full). Good luck and let us know what you find that works best.
I have a paslode gas
Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote
about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up
with them.
I also have a link to the Paslode manuals
which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.
If
you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a
