Mitsubishi WD-52525 shutting off periodically

I have a mitusbishi 52525 DLP tv that I can watch for about a half hour and then it shuts off. The orange light blinks for a while and then the green light blinks for a while longer and then goes out. I can turn the tv back on and at the bottom of the screen it asks if I've changed the bulb. I push cancle and I can watch it for only a few minutes and it goes out again. I've tried unplugging it, resetting it, and nothing seems to fix it.

Mitsubibishi wd series 73"..Mitsubishi ws series 73" dlp. Works fine but after several hours of viewing screen scrambles then goes blue and sound goes off. I can switch to another input and watch ama

A couple of suggestions, if only on cable and using a box disconnect the set and box from power and after several minutes repower and see if a reboot helps.

The two models listed here both should also have a soft reset done with the original remote and the set on---Menu,1,2,3, enter.

Tv stays on for about 3 minutes the shuts off

If it is Mitsubishi WD-52525 DLP TV then it sounds weak lamp problem in TV and TV needs lamp replacement.
How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently?
Lamp replacement is written in user manual of TV and it is easy work.
Please buy Mitsubishi original lamp for TV safety.
Thanks.

Our Mitsubishi WD 52525 goes to blue screen and shuts off.

It sounds like you TV is overheating and the video is suffering and the lamp is overheating as well. Also, if your TV is over 2-3 years old, the mirrors (behind and below the big front screen) desperately need to be cleaned. Clean all filters and fans as well. (Look on side and behind the unit). Is the TV in a "hot" environment and/or dirty environment? DLP TV's are NOT sealed units. They need to be cleaned every few years to work well to have a good, clear, bright picture.

Mitsubishi WD-52525 52-inch DLP HDTV ywllow warning lamp light

that means your lamp it is getting to the end of its life.
sometimes even if the lamp still good the TV will send you that message because that timer is closed to 5000 hours

What you can do is open the lamp door, closed again and the tv will ask you if you replaced it the lamp, and just say yes and that sign will go away

or just simple replace the lamp. 915P020010

TV made popping sound and then shut off

You need to look in your owners manual for the telephone number and order a new bulb. It should cost about $200, but they will ship it overnight and minimize your downtime.

I've replaced 2 in my WD-52525 in the last 3 years, the first one went like yours did, very suddenly, with an audible POP!! The second one was preceded by an orange warning light, which the book says is a warning that the bulb has about 20 hours left on it.

To replace the bulb, UNPLUG THE TV, remove the left speaker screen, with a philips screw driver unscrew the bulb, pull it out by the handle, then replace it with the same type, in reverse order. This is a very easy replacement that does NOT need to be done by a service technician to complete.
