Gestetner DCS424 error message: replace used toner bottle

it has not waster toner bottle on the machine, the waster toner is being recycled in the photo-conductor unit (PCU) so if the machine show replace the waster toner bottle just clean the PCU of the machine on the drum upper area

Check the waste bottle to see if there is a chip mounted on it somewhere. If not see if there is an optical sensor or clear window. If there is a chip it will need to be replaced or a new unit used. If there is a window or optical sensor you should be able to remove it, clean it out, and replace it. These are often the last part to fill with toner and create a light path block.

then the clear section of the waste toner bottle is not clear some toner is left blocking the sensor that monitors the waste toner level

Dear you wash the waste toner bottle clearly. But error still your copier you check the waste toner bottle dection SENCER OR IS DIRTY CLEAN IT..

It is located in the transfer belt assy.
open the right door look for the brown belt assy
lift lever and remove
remove front and rear springs
spread clips and swing belt assyup from case assy and remove
remove three blade screws remove blade and set aside
slowly dump waste toner

reverse procedure to reassemble message should clear (nothing to reset)

The sensor is dirty or damaged cleans or replaces. This is not reset.

The used toner is stored in the Transfer Belt assembly on the right door that you open to remove a jam. Remove one spring on each side and release the catch while gently lifting up on the belt and roller assembly. It swings 90 degrees up from the rest of the assembly. There are 6 screws that hold a cover on the lower assembly. remove it and dump the waste toner. *** VERY MESSY*** have a vac on hand. Not a shop vac unless you want toner clouds floating around the office. If the six screws aren't present, dump the toner out of the **** between the mylar-rubber blade and the lower assembly. once this is done, the message will clear.

There are 2 waste toner cartridges, be sure to empty these 2 cartridges . If you remove the waste toner in both cartridge it will automatically clear the error message.

Here's what I did.

Emptied the waste toner cartridge. Left it out of the machine. Held the microswitch (located to the right of the optical sensors) in the "cartridge in" position with a paperclip. Printed one document. Inserted the waste toner cartridge. Error now gone!

You will need to vacuum all the toner out as in the machine there is a sensor that looks through the waste tank and checks that it is clear. You can also wash the tank out then install it and you will not have the problem.
