Have you tried doing a soft reset? To do a soft reset, use the tip of the stylus to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.
Still not working, decided to purchase a new one for mine was 3 years old and it was not worth investing a lot of money to fix it.
Thank you for your help............snicksandsam
I have the same problem. another website suggested running a business card edge [or stiff paper] along the edge of the screen. That fixed it for a while. I think I tried that fix too much yesterday because now it doesn't respond at all. So do it just once to see if it helps you out.
1 press and hold the power button
2 while holding the power button, use the stylus to press the rest button on the back
3 wait for the "palm powered" logo to appear and then release the power button
4 when you see the warning message
either press "UP" on the 5 way navigator to reset
or
press any other button to do a soft reset
The digitizer is defective and needs to be replaced.
You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.
Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.
Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it
