Hi
It seems like you need a new battery, you can get a replacement one for cheap on Ebay.

Using USB in car as external power

the unit uses power EQUAL to what it is being charged with, when plugged into the USB.
you need to leave it on the DC (cigarette lighter) charger overnight to charge it fully, or use an AC plug for the Motorola Razor (min-USB) to charge it in the house

Invalid Battery

Totally discharging the battery is the way to go. But what you can also do to use your phone in the meantime is this. Plug your charger into the phone withOUT your battery in. It will tell you "Unable to Charge." When it says this, put the battery in. It might tell you "Invalid Battery" a couple more times, but it did eventually say "Charging Battery" for me. After that, simply turn the phone on and it will return to normal. This is when you drain the battery completely. Once I did that, I did not get the invalid battery error again.

Phone is dead wont take charge

You simply need a new battery. Razr batteries are notorious for loosing life and the entire problem is the chargers you are using. You MUST have one with an IC chip that tells it when to stop charging otherwise watch how long you are charging it. Also when you have a new battery let it fully charge and fully die twice before you start normal charging this helps a lot.
