Jazzy 614HD goes into lockout. We can get it out of lockout but goes back into lockout at any movement of the chair........

Make sure any seating system is completely down and in DRIVE position. When chair is unlocked, wait 5 seconds, shut chair off, wait 5 seconds, turn chair back on. Each time you turn the chair on you need to wait 5 seconds for the POST to complete before moving the joystick.

What does a flashing yellow light mean on the joystick? the light looks like the shape of a wrench.

Hi Judy,

According to Pride's troubleshooting documents the service indicator (wrench icon) will flash when a fault is detected by the dynamic controller.

The number of flashes, followed by a 2 second pause, indicates the issue. You will need to count the flashes to determine the cause and a possible solution.

I have typed the flash codes below, but you can also see them on a larger table here: http://www.fixya.com/support/p3641679-pride_jazzy_614_hd_jazzy_614hd/usermanual-6B42026-pdf

FLASH CODES
Code #1
  • Flash Code: One, pause, one
  • Cause: Possible Stall Timeout
  • Possible Solution: Turn joystick off, then on.

Code #2
  • Flash Code: Two, pause, two
  • Cause: Battery Fault
  • Possible Solution: Charge batteries, check battery connections and fuses.

Code #3
  • Flash Code:Three, pause, three
  • Cause: Left Motor Fault
  • Possible Solution: Make sure the left motor is plugged in.

Code #4
  • Flash Code: Four, pause, four
  • Cause: Right Motor Fault
  • Possible Solution: Make sure the right motor is plugged in.

Code #5
  • Flash Code: Five, pause, five
  • Cause: Left Park Brake Fault
  • Possible Solution: Make sure the left brake is not in freewheel mode.

Code #6
  • Flash Code: Six, pause, six
  • Cause: Right Park Brake Fault
  • Possible Solution: Make sure the right brake is not in freewheel mode.

Code #7
  • Flash Code: Seven, pause, seven
  • Cause: Joystick Fault
  • Possible Solution: Check the joystick connection.

Code #8
  • Flash Code: Eight, pause, eight
  • Cause: Power Module Fault
  • Possible Solution: Check connections to the power module and batteries.

Code #9
  • Flash Code: Nine, pause, nine 9
  • Cause: Controller Communication Fault
  • Possible Solution: Check bus connections from the joystick to the power module.

Code #10
  • Flash Code: Ten, pause, ten
  • Cause: Controller Fault
  • Possible Solution: Contact Technical Service for assistance.

Code #11
  • Flash Code: Eleven, pause, eleven
  • Cause: Incompatible Device Fault

Blinking yellow wrench light on pride jazzy 614 HD

Your version has a Dynamic Controls model controller and joystick.
Unplug the charger and engage the motor/brake lever so the chair is no longer in free-wheel mode (con't push by hand)
Turn the chair off, wait 5 seconds, turn the chair back.
If chair still does not run and your wrench is flashing you have a problem. Count the wrench flashes - the flash count indicates the error detected. 3, 4, 5, and 6 flashes indicate and error with the motors.
3=Left motor fault
4=Right motor fault
5=Left brake fault (may not be engaged)
6=Right brake fault (may not be engaged)
Any other fault code usually means the electronics or wiring is bad and not worth fixing.

Jazzy 614HD will not move. Lights flash from right to left, then cuts off. Unlock instructions are not effective. Chair is fully charged.

If chair has a tilt, recline or lift seat on it it may be going into lock-out mode on its own due to a limit switch fault. If you don't have any of these options then I suggest you remove the joystick, controller and any wire harness between the two and send them to a shop like mine for repair.
The usual lock out light chase is from left to right - not right to left so this is suspect of a different issue.

I just bought a used jazzy 614hd if the ground is just a slight bit unlevel it just sits and spins what can i do to fix this? also the joy stick is so sensitive i can't go straight can it be adjus

Augh!
This is another Pride Jazzy / Quantum motor issue. The wires that feed the motor break inside the insulation at the point of entry into the motor.
As a used chair there is no warranty to you, nor are there any recall protections.
Your motor(s) need(s) to be replaced or rebuilt.

Not sure witch jazzy chair i got but the joy stick blink and keeps blinking i have tried pushing horn button twice and also turning it on and pushing joy stick forward waiting for it to beep but no beep....

The jazzy probably has a VSI controller and if it is sleep mode then the lights will scroll rather than blink. Now turn on the chair and see if the blinks have a pause between them, ie 4 blinks pause 4 blinks pause etc If they do count the number of blinks and this will give you the error code ie 4 blinks right motor 3 blinks left motor your owners manual should have a chart listing the error codes If not you can contact Pride tech support @ 1-800-800-8586 ask for jazzy tech support

Hope this helps

My hand controler on my jazzy 1120 2000 keeps blink and I can not get the chair to move the batteries are good

GAdams You need to count the number of flashes. The number of flashes will give you the flash code or error code. IE: 3 flashes pause 3 flashes pause etc. = left motor short If you have your owners manual it should list the flash codes and what they mean for your chair. If not you can contact Pride Mobility @ 1-800-800-8586 and ask for Tech Support. If medicare paid for your chair the they will pay most of the repair cost. Contact the provider where you got your chair to see if they can repair it or refer you to a service Company that can. Hope this helps
