The color wheel broke and I replaced it but after replacing it there is a loud buzzing sound the goes in and out depending on what is on tv and the color if really off. I don't know if I did something wrong during replacing it or what the problem is. I didn't have this problem before replacing the wheel. It just popped and went to black and white.

Sounds like the color wheel has shatterd, thats a fairly common problem with that model.

Assuming the noise is a high-pitched whine, then yes, it is the color wheel. If the color wheel goes out, the TV will turn on for a while, then turn off when it can't establish color wheel sync. The color wheel has to be in sync with the mirrors on the DLP, so if sync can't be established, the TV turns off.
You can order a new color wheel from Sears or partstore.com (among other places) and replace it yourself, if you are so inclined.

The color wheel is not the problem. If the spinning color wheel is impaired in its RPMs it will cause picture distortion, not black and white picture. If the color wheel looses any of its color fins, like if it is broken, there will be a loud vibrating noise inside the tv which you did not mention. Also if the color wheel is broken and doesn't spin, the tv will not start up.
The likely problem is on the digital control board or the power supply and should be referred to a local repair shop for repair.
There is an outside chance that you will receive color if you experiment with using all of the different input ports to see if you can find one that will bring back color.

Hello,This problem denotes a defective color wheel, I would not suggest that you attempt to change it becuse of the risk of causing more damage. I would advise that you have the Tv repaired by a qualified TV technician, due to problems I have seen when repairing sets like this due to improper reinstallation of the color wheel.I hope this helps,Thank you,Shuttle83http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

Usually a bad color wheel will produce a high pitched sound or even a
grinding noise; some sets may actually shut down if the wheel is bad or
shattered.
