I have a Lanier 5235 MFP. It copies and collates just fine. When I turn on the stapler option, it will try to staple and release the document just fine. However, the printed document has just the dent from a staple trying to go in and nothing in it. When I remove the staple cartridge, it's got one bent staple inside of it but it isn't detached. I've cleaned out everything that I can see that might prevent it from stapling. Any help??

Turn the stapler upside down and shake it to see if you can remove any of the staples. Attempt to open the top part of the stapler. If you can, remove the existing staples from the magazine. Then, unravel one end of a paperclip and attempt to remove the jammed staple from the head of the stapler.

You didn't list the make and model of your stapler but if it's not driving the staples flush with the surface here are some possible causes: 1. The wood; If you are driving long staples into hardwood or knotty lumber you may have to use shorter staples to see how they set. 2. Stapler settings; Turning the air pressure up isn't the answer to driving staples deeper, it is only harder on the stapler. Most staplers work in the 90 to 120 psi range. The lower pressure you use the longer your stapler will last. Check/adjust the depth of drive control on the stapler to determine where the top of the staple is driven to. 3. Broke stapler; If it's not driving them to the proper depth but the level they are driven to is consistant, you may have a damaged piston o-ring/seal or the end of the driver is broken off. You'll have to go into the gun or take it to a service center to check these things.
With the stapler sitting a solid surface, turn it 180 degrees so it is pointed away from you, and you are looking at the back. Press down on the plastic extension that you see (about mid-height on the stapler). This releases the staple-holding compartment (it shoots out the front of the stapler). Reload it with standard staples, push the compartment back in place until you hear a click. Voila!

Located on the end opposite of where the staples come out, there is a spring loaded cap. Push it in toward the base of the stapler and slightly down to release the retaining hook. then let the spring release the pressure rod and pull it out. Connedted to the end of the rod you will see a plunger that is shaped like a short run of staples. Make a mental note of how and where this plunger slides into the base of the stapler. Place a run of staples into the stapler in the same manner that the plunger fits then replace the plunger into the same place following the run of staples. Compress the spring into the stapler and attach the hook as it was. Now you are ready to work.
NOTE: If you cannot compress the spring enough into the stapler you have inserted too many staples, just remove some of the run of staples and try again.
Hello sir; It don't have driver for stapler or collator, because these two unit are controlled by copier cpu, therefor your computer only can deal with copier. the copier cpu got everything you need.
What has most likely happened is part of a staple is stuck in the front portion of the stapler where it forms the staple and presses it into the stapler.
You would most likely have to remove the stapler, and remove the binding staple from the stapler head.
Have you tried the staple setup procedure, or maybe swap the Finisher DC Controller off the Finisher that the known-good stapler carraige came from? I think DC Controller.
First make sure that you do not have the collate and staple option checked on the printer menuing system or in the print setup on one of the local machines printing to it. Ensure that when auto-staple is not used that the error stops manifesting.
Then, I would check to make sure that you are installing the correct staples, length and width for the model.
