Kenmore HE2T F20 plus Water leakage when tub starts to fill

I have read your previous advice on the F20 error code on a "wash cycle". I checked the supply lines - definitely on. I am getting water in the tub. In addition to the F20 error code, water is leaking out of the machine (slow leak, not a flood) at the beginning of the cycle.

I can get the washing mahine to successfully complete a rinse, spin and drain cycle after getting the F20 error code.

Is there a particular solution/part I should try first? Drain pump?

Thank you

Have you read by advice on how to diagnose this problem? Click on the following link:

If you HAVE water entering the wash tub, first verify that you do not have a siphoning condition. This is where the drain line does not have the proper air gap to drain properly and creates a vacuum on the drain line. This will cause drain problems and may prevent the washer from filling all the way. Or, you may have trouble maintaining the water level. When you stated you had water leaking, is this a visible leak? Or, do you have water slowly draining from the tub? Double check your drain line to be sure.

Next, check the drain pump to ensure it is not clogged or obstructed which minimizes drain flow. Also, make sure the pump is running. Remove the access cover and clean out the pump reservoir. In addition, check the drain line from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. I have personally found small articles of clothing stuck in this line, preventing drain flow.

Read through the link thoroughly. If you require additional assistance, please let me know before rating the solution. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore washer he2t model 110.47571603. getting f20 error after it fills for about 9 minutes. replaced water sensor and still getting the error

F20 means either Hot or Cold water is taking too long to fill. remove hoses and fill into a buck to verify you have good household pressure. if not, call plumber to resolve. If hoses are putting out good pressure, inspect water valve screens, one or both may be partially clogged with sediment or sand. If they are clean, I recommend replacing the water valve.

Kenmore elite h5

Hello there and welcome to fixya
I am very sorry that you are having a troubles with your machine
I know that it can be very frustrating when dealing with error codes so i will do my best to try to help you thru this ok?
ok well first the f20 error code is a no water code meaning that the machine may not be getting any water into the machine or very little and after 6 minutes the error code will be shown on the display .
So what do u need to do is this
f you have NO water in the wash tub, check the following:

- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, check the following:

- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. Click the following link for instructions:

I have a Kenmore HE2t that keeps sending a trouble code of F20 what does this mean?

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADERS displaying the "F20" error code.

"F20" is a No Water Detect error. It is an indication that you either have no water coming into the washer, or very little water at all. If the pressure switch has not tripped after 6 minutes, the error code is displayed. This can be a potential problem with the following:

If you have NO water in the wash tub, check the following:

- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, check the following:

- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. Click the following link for instructions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

- Verify Drain Pump operation.
- Verify the Pressure Switch hoses are intact and connected properly.

- Verify wire harness connections at the pressure switch, inlet valves, drain pump and Central Control Unit (CCU).

To access the Drain Pump - UNPLUG the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Propping the front feet of the washer up can make access much easier. I use a couple small blocks of wood. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer.Verify the electrical connections are good and that the pump is running.Click on the following link to check the pump for obstructions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

To access the Pressure Switch - remove the three screws in the top panel along the back of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel should slide back, then, lift off.The pressure switch is located on the right-hand side of the washer in the rear.It is a round plastic device with electrical connections and a plastic air hose attached.Verify the electrical connections are intact, and the air hose is attached and not cracked or leaking.

To access the Central Control Unit (CCU) - with the top panel of the washer removed, the CCU is located directly behind, and just above the rear of the wash tub. There should be a tech sheet directly behind the lower panel or attached to one of the interior cabinet walls. Please refer to this sheet to learn how to perform diagnostics and to verify the wire connections at the CCU.In addition, the tech sheet will also assist in how to locate the components mentioned, and the specific measurements required determining if the components are good or bad.

Keep getting error f20

Press the Pause/Cancel button twice to clear the display and cancel the cycle. Unplug the machine and remove the fill hoses from the water inlet valves. Check the inlet screens for clogging and clean it. Make sure that the water supply valves are open and water is present. Check the drain hose for siphoning.

Press and hold the Start button to start a new wash cycle. If the error code flashes again, verify if there is water present inside the tub. Check the water inlet valve if no water is present. Check the pressure switch if water is present.
