Screen stuck on ending a game . No buttons are responding. Only had it since xmas.
It is dead easy. just get a paperclip and open one side of it, now look on the side of the 97 there is small hole between the USB port and the flash sd card, insert the paperclip end an hold until the system resets itself.
All will come back to life after pressing the power button..
No data wil be lost, I have done it lots of times.

To hard reset a tablet, hold the power button down until it shuts off then press it to turn back on. Should take about 5 - 10 seconds for the device to power off.

Can't exactly help you, but I'm in the same situation. I got a crack across the middle of the screen on my 43 while it was in my pocket. It seems like this might be a problem with the gen 8 tablets, but Archos is currently refusing to consider it defective.

Panic over... i let the battery go dead, left it 10 mins then plugged charger back in.... so far so good.
