I have the Curtis CR4966 & the LED display for the clock is dim. Is there a way to increase the brightness? It is OK when the room is dark, but with light on very difficult to see the time

Unfortunately, it is not possible to adjust the brightness of the LED display on an Echo Dot. To increase visibility, you can place it in an area with more ambient light, or you can use a lamp or other light source to illuminate the LED display.
Yes, you can adjust the LED display brightness on the Advance Model 3138 alarm clock. To adjust the brightness, follow these steps:
Press and hold the "SNOOZE/DIM" button for 2 seconds. The current brightness level will appear on the display.
Press the "SNOOZE/DIM" button repeatedly to cycle through the available brightness levels.
Once you have selected the desired brightness level, wait for a few seconds for the clock to automatically save your selection.
Note that the brightness levels are labeled as "HI," "MED," and "LO" on the clock. If you want to turn off the display entirely, you can press the "SNOOZE/DIM" button once more after selecting the "LO" brightness level.
To fix the dim brightness level, remove the battery and pull the plug out of the mains power. Leave it disconnected for at least 5 minutes then plug it back into mains power. You should find the brightness has retuned to normal. I have 3 of these Clock Radios and the picture attached shows the comparison between dim and normal. For some unknown reason they intermittently decide to dim themselves. This may be why Sony included a dimmer in the next model up ICF-C318. Anyway I hope this helps
i found that if I repeatedly press snooze/date/sleep off (big button) it will change the dim setting 3 levels... dunno how many times but I press it like 20-30 times and it works
Hello The backlight LED of your Timex clock has got weak. It should be replaced. But it is really a skilled work as, you have to disassemble the display unit. If you are aware in electronics and have skill to do this work, you can do it by yourself. Otherwise, it will be best to get it replaced by any experienced service technician. OK.
This alarm clock radio features an adjustable display backlight, with dim, medium, and bright settings. To
select a backlight setting, press the 3 Snooze/Dimmer Bar until the desired brightness is reached.
Please note that the backlight will not work while the clock is operating on battery power.
OK
TRY........with radio on and set on "AM", hold "Clock" button about 7 seconds and let up - bringing a setup menu. Using tuning knob, scroll to "Hardware". Press tuning knob in, bringing up contrast menu. Press tuning knob in, bringing up "contrast level". Turn tuning knob counter-clockwise to "00". Brightness, dimming level should be "170".
