SOURCE: connecting Panasonic DVD to TV

What kind of cables are you using to hook up the DVD to the TV? Are they they composite, component, or S-Video? What are the connectors you're plugging both ends of the cables into labeled? Are you plugging the audio cables into the TV or directly into the sound system?

SOURCE: When i connect my hp laptop to my panasonic plasma

Hi, you probably won't get audio from the HDMI port on a laptop post the exact model so I can check for you, you can get an adapter from the audio out to the in on the TV, as for the resolution, lower the resolution on the laptop before connecting it, simply right click the mouse anywhere on the desktop, then left click on properties then settings, then pull the resolution level to 800x600 save by clicking apply and OK , try a few settings to get the highest resolution the TV can display correctly.
Thanks

SOURCE: How are you? Good

I'm experiencing this lip synch problem with the T500 too. Not only that, but the soniq firmware upgrade (from their site) doesn't work either. And not only that, but the unit won't record from the EPG, and timer record looks like it is unreliable as well. The frimware file was on their site a few days ago, now I can't find it. They're promising a new website (URL?) soon. I'm none too impressed. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Just got Panasonic Home Theater and using Digital Audio cable along with HDMI cable. Cables are coneccted and when I do a speaker test all work fine. When I play my Wii the sound is coming out the Tv not...

What kind of TV do you have?
I have found one of the easiest ways to connect surround system is to connect all your accessories (ie. Wii, Cable Box, VCR, etc) to the TV.

Next find the AUDIO OUT on the TV and connect this to the TV or AUX input on the home theater.

Tune the Home theater to the Input that you connected the TV to. This should play the audio through the home theater for any input you tune the TV to.

Note: make sure to turn the TV volume all the way down otherwise there will be some distortion due to the delay between the TV and the home theater.

Good Luck,
Robert

We bought a new Panasonic high definition TV TC-L42D2 and we are unable to see a picture when we try to play a DVD on our Panasonic SC-HT650 System. We only get audio on the DVD. We are sure we have the...

So what's different? The TV. Anything else like the video type (s-video, composite, component)?

Perhaps if you described what cable is carrying video and the point-to-point connection to the TC-L42D2 we'd understand what isn't working.

Can't get surround sound for regular television. DVD sound is great but nothing on the TV channels either regular or HD

Only a digital audio source will produce surround sound.

What's the audio source you're using for TV sound? It shouldn't be the TV, but what IT's watching, like the cable/sat box.

My surround sound will not work through the TV, only the DVD

If your tv and surround has an optical input/output.Then you can connect with an optical lead. This will then play the sound from whatever you are watching. You normaly select dig1 or input1 on the surround system.

Blu ray connect to my sc-pt660

as far as hooking up your blu ray player to the sc-pt660, the only real way to utilize the surround sound (with true surround sound) is through the optical audio out. You need to connect your blu ray player through hdmi to your tv and then connect your blu ray player to your surround sound using the optical audio out/in. I, personally have the sc-pt660 hooked up through component cables so I don't waste an HDMI input on my TV. Except for cd's, there is no reason for you to use the actual dvd player part of the surround sound considering you have a blu ray player. In conclusion, hooking your blu ray player and the sc-pt660 up to get better video simply isnt possible (your blu ray player alone gives the best possible resolution, 1080p). As far as audio goes, run an optical audio cable from your blu ray player to your sc-pt660 to get true surround sound.

No sound through the Panasonic cinema surround sound on TV

Had a similar problem mate. I solved it by connecting the tv to the PT460 system with a scart lead. You then have to have the AV channel selected on the PT460 system to listen to the tv. You will always have to have the AV channel on the PT460 selected to listen to any sound transmitted through the tv - be it playstation/xbox or any other device that you may connect in the future with HDMI leads or otherwise. Hope this helps

I want to connect the Audio from tv to Surrounding audio system

For connections of audio, so that you can hear all tv audio through the
surround system, connect either an optical audio cable or red & white
analog audio cables from the tv to the home theater. If you are using
optical audio, there is a plug on back of tv labeled for digital audio
output and an input on the surround sound system. If you plan on using
analog red and white, use the PROG OUT red and white output jacks on the
back of the tv to the AUX input on the home theater.

For video connections, to get HD you will need to be using either HDMI or
Component cables. HDMI is the cable that will provided 1080p signal (the
best HD signal), but if the source does not output 1080p, then your tv
will not display 1080p. Most cable boxes output at 1080i or 720p when on
HD stations. This signal still provides great picture quality, but HDMI is
not needed to get these HD signals. You can use component cables for your
cable box and the DVD player output to the tv for video. HDMI might give
you a slightly better picture quality but the signal will be the same.

To make the connection, you will want to connect from the cable box to the
tv (component or hdmi). Also from the home theater system to the tv using
hdmi or the video cables from component (red, blue, & green cables).

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank You,
