JVC 52 in rear projection TV

I have had this tv for about 3 years. Now for some reason on the top left corner it as a green/red tint to everything that is on that portion of the screen. Any repair solutions or do i need to get a new TV. The spot on the TV is about 6 inchels long and 3 in deep on the screen. Thanks

    My jvc needs a new light engine. Bought it in 2005, a 52 inch now jvc says it will cost 2300 to fix it and that's not including installation costs. What a piece of junk.

Its the light engine, i just had mine replaced for that reason... jvc and all major brands are extending the warranty an extra 3 years for this reason

    I have the same 52" jvc hd-ila with the same problem in the upper left corner and there technician said it was the light engine going out. They wont fix it under my warranty, "it costs more than the tv is worth. They will only give me a fraction of what the tv cost me only 4 years ago. NICE

I would call a repairman out and have it fixed..it would be alot cheaper than buying a new tv.

Bad convergence ic's. I think STK 392-560, but it will have to check with your model #. Can buy kits online. But may also have bad open pekoe fuses and open low value resistors which the kit will not include.

Jvc 52 inch tv. the picture on the upper left corner drops and is discolored
Hi if your tv is a Dlp or Lcd it will be a problem with the light engine.Basically there's 3 chips green,blue,red that create the image and colors.When they start to go bad or melt you will get color discoloration on corners on the center.You will need to replace the optical block ,you can find it on www.discount-merchant.com www.shopjimmy.com or ebay .Have a blessed day!

Is the tubes going out on my rear projection tv?
If the red, green, and blue colors are separated like a rainbow, then the convergence amps are going out. This set has a common problem of two electrolytic caps going bad. The caps are in the upper left-hand corner of the main board and will have a bulged top if bad.
I would not think the picture tubes are bad, especially all at once.

The master convergence needs to be set in the service menu. You can't do this yourself.. you'll need a technician.

Corner tints and white lines
it can be a picture tube problem. moreover, check if your tv is dusty inside it . clear it with blower and try again.

I have the same problem here on this Samsung 40" LCD. its a 2007 model. everything was fine until recently. I had to reset my digital cable box. now the picture has the green tint. its ruined what was a nice tv, and it won't go away.

65 in.JVC bad picture
You may have a convergence problem that means, there may be convergence ic's bad or related components.
If you know something about tv's, try checking things out.
You can get a repair manual from websites to download.
If you do not normally fix tv's the best thing is to call a tv repair technician.

You both will need to have a service center come out to try to reset the TV using the reset jig. A JVC authorized service center will be the only ones that will have access to and training to use this jig. It is a good chance reseting it fix the color problem but it could also be something more serious.
