To unblock friends in facebook, you need to do this on the actual site. Here are the steps:
1. Click on account menu at the top right corner 2. Click on "Privacy settings" 3. Click "Manage blocking" under the blocked people and Apps section. 4. Click "Unblock" on the right hand side of the person that you wish to unblock

You need to send them a friend request to add them to your friends list because doing these procedure will not add them automatically.

If you check the help section of Facebook, it says there that they can't lift the block. You have to wait the full days you are blocked. Facebook uses an internal algorithm that detects users who frequently uses the friend request. Make sure that you do not "Add a friend" while blocked by Facebook as this might lead to an extension of the days you are blocked (according to help section).
