I am trying to connect my printer lexmark z 640 to my laptop but have no disc or manufacturers information can you help please.

Lexmark does not distribute replacement install disk for all models, but many models are available.

Contact Lexmark here, to see if the disk for your printer is available.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

You didn't specify the exact Model or I'd have given you more exact information, but you an go HERE to download the latest software and drivers. I believe that will FixYa.

ok..first thing

remove all s/w from print panel(through control panel)

then go here, look for lexmark icon, and download new drivers

reinstall with printer NOT connected to computer.

check printer for self test and test page.

reconnect to computer.
