I have sound but no video. I can change the channels. When i turn the TV on, It flashes blue in the upper left hand side of tv. This flash is very brief.. less than a second probably. I suspect the power convert board. I think that is what you call it. Had a tv fellow look at it, and he said he tried a new power convert board, but it didnt help. I opened the tv today, and I feel the board has never been disturbed. What do you feel is the most likely problem. The power convert board, or the little light , like florsecent lamps. but much smaller. My model has 7 of them. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Pete Tate
I had the same problem..."No video but the Sound/audio was working fine." This is my solution.
Dissamble Procedures:
1. There are 4 different types of screws used. So, you can copy my technique. I used masking tape. Everytime I took out screw I taped it beside the hole.
2. You can pull the Video/Audio RCA box by plier, it is detachable.
3. You can pull also the antenna input box by plier.
4. When taking out the Inverter board, you have to flip the lcd upside-down. There are 4 screws at the four corners.
Soldering Solutions.
I soldered all 7 transformer's legs. 8 legs each transformer. I soldered also the 8 capacitors. Checked the 4 fuses.
Main Part of Solutions.
The problem was coming from the 2 surfaced mount inductors. That's why there was no supplied power (voltages) going to the inverter.
These 2 tiny inductors are labeled as L21 and L168 connecting the 12v supply and transfering the power to the inverter. IMAGINE THESE 2 TINY PIECES CAN DISABLE YOU VIDEO? That's why even if you are going to buy a new Inverter board it will not solve the problem. Because the 2 inductors are not connected fully (cold solder) although by naked eye they seems fine. Solution resolder them both.
I used 30w Radioshack soldering Iron. Don't use the 40w because the tip is thick and can damage the neighboring electronic parts. Use a tooth-pick for pressing the inductor while resoldering both ends. I used an over-head magnifying glass while soldering these 2 inductors because the size is HALF GRAIN OF RICE, I am talking a very very tiny piece.
Warning: Over heating can damage these inductors. Just in case you damage one of them. You can find a replacemen on a Dell desktop P4 motherboard. Can be found near the 4 pins cpu power (2 black and 2 yellow) for 12v.
It's been almost 3 days now my Westinghouse LCD TV still working fine.

Thank you for the hint. My W32701 went black recently I could fix it following yours advice (L168 was burned out). I made up my own inductance with ferrite bedfound in tv cable splitter. I wound about 10 turns of wire gage#24-26 and soldered as a hanging inductor (place permitted). My TV screenis back from the death. Valeri

Ussualy when the backlight is the problem you can see picture, try, turn it on and see if you can see picture, even if the backlight is off, you can see picture , if yes the inverter board or the power supply are the problem. but unfortunately could be the backlight neon lamps too, if is that the case it will be expensive to repair . There are some companies who can repair those panels but are no cheap. please let me know . thanks

I can't see the picture, unless I turn off lights and make it dark in room. Then if I shine a light on the screen, it appears I can see some of the picture faintly in the background. I have been told that this problem could also be the main board. I can't seem to see the picture in regular lightning. From what I can deduct, it is either the inverter board, main board, or backlight panel. What would be your best guess? Thanks Dufay Tate
My Westinghouse has the same problem, I had the inverter board changed and that did not fix it, I really didn't feel like going through the cost or hassle of fixing it at this point, so I went out and bought a Sony. When I went to buy my new t.v. the sales man said he has boxes of broken Westinghouses just like mine in the back room (JUNK!)
I have sound but ** video. I can change the channels. When i turn the TV on, It flashes blue on the entire screen then goes black. This flash is very brief.. less than a second. Then after leaving it undisturbed for a week or so, it will come on and work just fine for about a week or so. Then the problems starts all over again.
Also have exactly the same problem as described. Just starting happening and appears to be permanent.
