Stop n serve came off

Hi,

This morning all the coffee backed up into the filter, never came down into the pot. When I pulled the pot out the stop n serve piece came off. It looks like I can put it back on but I am not quite sure how. I called krups and they want me to get a new filter and valve which is ok but I can't reach the dealer, etc. etc.

Can anyone tell me how to just put the stop n serve piece back on the bottom of the filter?

this is for a Krups 867

Thanks for the instruction manual. I had that and looked through and it doesn't tell you how to put that piece back on.

Does anyone have a schematic for this appliance?

I was looking at the bottom of the basket and can't see where it fits. Then someone mentioned it might go on the wall of the appliance itself. It is a little piece that looks like a tongue.

That is why I am hoping there might be a schematic or something.

  • susan_ortega Jan 13, 2009

I will try the vinegar trick but I can't get anything to run through until I can put the trigger back on to compress something to let water run through. I do have hard water I think.

  • susan_ortega Jan 13, 2009

Thank you for posting the instruction manual again. It doesn't say or show you specifically where the trigger goes. It just tells you about the feature. I did call the number in the book 1st but they were only semi helpful.

I spoke with a woman at the Concord service center and she said that it looks like the part goes on the body of the coffee maker according to the schematic. I am wondering if anyone has a schematic out there. I have Googled for one but can't find it.

I just found it!!! The part snaps back into the main body of the maker behind where the pot slips in. There's a little snap place for it. You can't miss it but I really had to look for it.

The part which you r reffering to be came out is not came out it is joint part and it needs to be replaced as it is not a sigle part that by fitting it will asdjust that is joint to the unit internally so you will have to order the part.then it will come full so it will be easily adjusted .as it is broken part at present its not complete part that came out.its a piece of the complete part.the remaining small piece is itself in the unit.so just require another complete part.that only will solve the issue.
thanks.

Maybe there is a tongue that you have to put into like on the back of a remote where you put the batteries in?

Notice the pot. It holds 12 Canadian cups or 6 mugs of coffee. The sides of the pot are straight and the pot is calibrated in cups although you cannot see the calibrations in this photo.
They are drip machines that all brew coffee the same way. You put the coffee in the basket and cold water in the tank. The machine brings the coffee to the basket but boils it on the way to the basket. Therefore the coffee is always the same. They all have the feature that lets you pull the pot out safely while it is still brewing. That is great if you can't wait for the machine to finish brewing all the coffee.

Should be a press fit... you must make sure the spring is between the stopper and the basket itself

I have a bunn coffee pot that i purchased at KOHLS The serving pot leaves a mess from dripping everytime i go to . please replace the serving pot. Kohls WILL NOT REPLACE TOLD ME TO CONTACT YOU.

* Most decanters are made of tempered glass and unless cracked it should not leak.
* Make sure the two pots you are using (one to pour one to brew) is the same size. Check by filling one then pour into the other. If they don't match then get a matching one.
* Most overflowing pots are caused by over filling brewing tank. This can be caused by re-pouring additional water into the brew tank. (automatic brewers may have a leaking water valve - call your vendor for service)
* Partial brewing (taking coffee from a brewing pot) and then putting in more water.
* Removing the pot BEFORE it stops dripping. It leaves a puddle of coffee on the warmer plate
*Over filling the water tank. Most times the extra water will spill out the back. But some may overflow into the basket area then the warmer plate.
* Follow the MFR brewing instructions for filling.
* All brewers should stop water drips after brewing. If you get a constant drip AFTER brewing then have the brewer checked or replaced. Call your vendor.
Aloha, ukeboy57

PS: I've noted that you don't mention the brand nor model of the server you got from Kohls so I'm guessing it might be a dispenser or even a bunn dispenser which is different from a decanter as it has a serving spout. You find these at banquet halls where it's dispensed from a small faucet. You can find similar faucets from bunn.com or most restaurant supply stores as it's a very common item. Amazon.com has them too. the part tat leaks is the rubber boot or worn spring. best to buy the whole faucet and keep the old one for parts as needed. amazon link:

I have a Black 4 cup Mr Coffee with luminate lighting and time display programer so that I can have coffee brewed in the morning when I get up for work at 4:30am my problem is the coffee pot has started...

I had a black and decker coffee pot do same thing and it was brand new. here is how I fixed it.
make sure the filter seated down good. If you look at the top of the coffee pot it should open up the little valve of the coffee filter holder. also mine had a little water spout above the coffee filter that swings over the filter. make sure it is over the filter. I know my coffee pot is different, but I think the problem is the opening from filter to coffee pot is not open some how so the water is flooding over the filter and going out the sides onto counter
hope this helps

Hi, I just got my new rancilio yesterday and used it for the first time this morning but the coffee does not seem as hot as what I get at a coffee house or even from my former stove-top pot? I am following...

No the temperature is fixed. If you make the coffee just after is heated up 10-20 minutes then try to lush some water from filter holder first in the cup you will serve the coffee. Flush for some half a minute and the make the coffee.

Hi. Let it run until the water tank is empty. Then just fill the pot to the amount of coffee you want to serve.and dump it in, now the maker can only make the coffee for the amount you put into it. Good luck. bobbyone

Kenmore Elite coffee maker Model # 100.9101670A Is this model on a recall? How can I get a manual for it? And what is the filter reset button?

I have a manual with mine and as far as "recall" goes on this model, I've not found anything recalling this particular model...

The most important thing in the manual, that I have found, is how to clean and change the filter. If all else fails unplug the pot for 10-15 seconds; replug it...this resets it...(if it ever acts up, do this; it helps)

The filter reset button: Your coffeepot should flash a small message stating: "change filter and clean" To do this you first, turn off the pot, remove filter~(the filter is in a long thin black plastic thing and the filter cover simply snaps and pulls apart to expose the charcoil filter; Remove the Filter, then fill the coffee pot with 7 cups of vinegar plus 7 cups cold water; Place a paper type regular coffee filter in the brew basket, or a thin paper towel works well too~(This traps and holds particles that get trapped inside the pot)

Before brewing; PLEASE NOTE, brew the first pot of vinegar/water mixture only HALF WAY then TURN OFF and let it sit for a good 15 minutes to soften any deposits...
Turn the pot BACK ON and brew the remaining solution. When brew stops turn OFF coffee pot, empty the solution, and discard the paper filter...

Refill reservoir with cold water and turn ON; you may want to dump this and refill with more cold water to ensure the vinegar taste/smell is gone...

Now, wash the brew basket and the glass pot...Open the black skiny Water Filter and replace with a new charcoil filter...Put Filter back in pot...fill brew basket with coffee and brew some mighty fine tasting coffee!!! Hope this helps....Good Luck

I have a FTX49 Mr Coffee Maker purchased 9 months ago. It just started to leak in the front area where the round burner casing meets the tall front face of the unit (the groove area on both sides??) What...

There is a lever in the back of the carafe area that pivots and controls a spring loaged valve on the bottom of the removeable filter basket. This lever breaks easily. Pull the filter basket out and you can see the lever hanging down into the carafe "bay". (assuming it's not broken off entirely).

When you pull the pot out during brewing, the lever swings forward and allows the valve on the bottom of the filter basket to close. This shuts off the flow of coffee to avoid drips. The plastic lever is held in place underneath the valve by two round tab "ears". One of these ears can break off, causing the level to hang at an angle. This means the filter valve never completely opens, even if the pot is pushed in all the way. During brewing, the filter basket can't drain into the pot fast enough and overflows.

I fixed mine by going ahead and removing the damaged lever and then wedging the valve open. The spring loaded valve has a little drip "Spout" which hangs underneath the filter basket that directs the coffee into the pot. You can push in on the back of the drip spout and wedge something into the two slots at the back to hold the valve open. This let the coffee flow freely during brewing.

My Survival Guide To The Dreaded Err2 Disaster

An ERR 2 may be cleared by a simple reset of the coffee maker. This means unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. When powered back on, select a brew function to see if the error reappears.

If it does, ERR 2 indicates an internal error with the computer of the warming plate. This may be covered under Kitchenaid's 1 Year Hassle Free Warranty. I would advise you to call Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available to you. Repair is not recommended, as it is not cost effective for the company or the consumer.
