I opened the battery compartment, removed the "spanner" nut, removed green disc, removed four screws, with a long skinny phillips screwdriver loosened the screws (top and bottom). You could replace the arms if they are ***** out or put tin foil over gear to shim it up to tighten gap between the arm and gear I see lots of new parts on eBay so it must be a commend problem
