Hi Margaret, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair
I've worked for Chrysler for over 40 years and I've found several reasons the radio has a low signal. (1) The radio itself could have a short inside. (2) The antenna or wiring could be shorted or frayed. (3) The antenna itself could be bad. Unfortunately, without running a test procedure you don't know which one is causing the problem. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair website and check out the testimonials of my satisfied customers. http://www.bigasautorepair.com/
More than likely your pacifica has a factory amp. To turn it on it requires a digital turn on from a factory radio. You will have to rewire the speakers to your new radio and bypass the amp and you should be all set.
had same problem in a dodge... turned out the interface module was bad. but try a relay on the amp trun on lead. there may not be enough power to trigger the factory amp
IF YOU OPEN THE HOOD ON THE RIGHT SIDE THERE IS A SQUAR BOX THAT SITS RIGHT NEXT TO THE BATTERY OPEN THAT BOX AND LOOK UNDER THE PART YOU OPEN AND IT HAS A DIAGRAM AND THE NUMBER WHERE IT GOES
