This sounds like an issue that would be covered under the manufacturer warranty. Before looking for a replacement board, please get a hold of the manufacturer for service. Thsi particular model has a 2 year, parts and labor, limited warranty. This might save you some money. Here is the website for LG service:

I have a 50PG2 and it has (& also in the manual) an AV port out for an external second monitor or TV. (2 x audio and 1 x video) . I feed the Audio from this port to my receiver for general audio whn not wanting the full theatre running. Can also use this port to feed audio to standard definition DVR for recording (downgraded) HD programs off air.

Your LG 50PG20 TV don't provide mp3 players or HDD's, this usb i guess is only for firmware aka for services. Or just you must change your mp3 system to FAT32 or FAT .!

these is a power supplie problem (overload), needs to replace. Normaly is very specific board, on market dont have any spare parts on LCD TVs. better send to repair.

This model was known for issues with the Y-sustain, Y-drives, and the Z-sustain boards. These boards help process the picture image to the screen.

When one or more of these boards fail, the screen stays black, and you only have audio & on/off.

You could call LG and try to get your TV repaired at a discount if you can convince LG to honor this known issue.

Another issue could be the actual panel has gone bad. The plasma panel in your TV has a two warranty and LG would fix that for free. Well…it would be free as long as it’s not past two years of your date of purchase.
