Xbox 360 keeps locking up

This is unfortunately a common problem with the console, you are eventually going to just get the three red lights and the unit will be dead. Call Microsoft now to get them to replace the unit. You can call them at 1-800-4-My-Xbox

is the light flashing red and orange?

4 RED lights are usually the AV cable is out. Borrow your friends cable then try it. If its the console send it to microsoft

If it's a full ring where all of them are blinking red, that means you need to replug your component cables, unplug them, then plug them back in and that should do the trick..

It's a common fault with X boxes, the red lights indicate overheating, so make sure it is well ventillated and if neccasary you can purchase an add on cooler for the system.
