Trying to Install New Motherboard in Acer computer

I have an Acer Computer and the motherboard went bad. I got a replacement board but am having some trouble figuring out how to hook it up. Do you know where I might find a schematic or guide to hook it up?

The new motherboard should have came with a manual, that manual should identify all connection points on the motherboard. If you did not receive a manual, I would say that you did not get a new motherboard. If you got an exact replacement for your motherboard, you should be able to find the correct supporting documents on the Acer website. If it is a different motherboard than you had originally, then you might find supporting documents on the motherboard manufacturer's website. You will need to identify the motherboard by manufacturer and model #.

Could be bad thermocouple, or oxygen sensor, not enough fresh air to unit.
Probably bad PC board. Rheem will send new board and you can install yourself.

Bad PC board is kind of like the motherboard on your computer, so expect same level of performance after replacing motherboard ... which usually means the computer's days are numbered before another major problem.

I have a Dell Vostro 410. It would not turn on - would just blink amber light and go "ping, ping" - So I had a technician come and he said the motherboard was bad - we put in new motherboard -...

Yes the motherboard is faulty. But it hasn't died on its own, it was damaged by something else in there - most likely the power source is defective and it has effectively fried the boards. The technician should have tested it before replacing the board. Call it again, make him test the source in front of you and if it's defective have it foot the bill for the repair.
If the source is OK then something else that is connected to the pc is defective so multiple test will have to be done.

The computer will not power up, the board fan acts like it is going to start but then doesnt. I have replaced the ps but is still isn't working. do you have any advice?

The 2 most common problems for a no start up situation are bad motherboard or bad RAM. I would suggest trying the easiest things first, and that would be to remove 1 of RAM at a time, and if that doesn't fix it, put the stick that you removed back in and remove the other. This will tell you if it's a RAM related issue. Another thing that you can try is to just "reseat" the processor, making sure that it's seated in it's socket correctly. Hope that helps

I have an hp pavilion a6030n that wont power up. I've tried multiple power sources, removing ram and battery and reinstalling and switching the power options on the back of the computer. Nothing is...

First thing you should try is another monitor. It's likely nothing is going to happen but if you get a picture, then that rules out the video card, which means you have a bad cable or a bad monitor. If you're plugging into an external video card, try plugging into the on-board video card. If you get an image then your external video card is shot. If you don't get an image, that rules out anything to do with your video card(s).
If this is the case then it's likely you need new Ram. You can see if this is the problem by removing the Ram and trying it in another computer. If the other computer stops working then the problem is due to faulty ram. If it still works, your ram is fine.

The next step is to test the hard drive. Again, take the hard drive to another computer and plug it in. If your hard drive is recognized, then something is wrong with your processor, the BIOS, or the motherboard.

It's a process of elimination to find out what piece of hardware has stopped working on you.

Motherboard problem Acer 5641-U5520A

i will suggest you to send the computer to acer service center and they will replace the new mother board. it will take some time but apart from that they will also check other things as well. you are investing money to replace yourself which can cause more problem. mother board should be the right one so that it should match with the other components of your comp. it wil cost you bit more but the factory fittings will be better than what you will do yourself and risk involved is less. you can also claim them if anything goes wrong. it doesnot matter if it is out of warranty or in waranty. dude you are paying the money and thats more important.

hi there, it may not be the mother board, it may be that the graphics card doesn't have the drivers for your system. Bring it to a computer shop and they will install the drivers for you.

ACER S2W 3300U Flatbed not "connecting" on Windows ME system.

Go into your device manager to see if there is an error.  If there is don't install the software, instead install the driver first.  I would also try to unplug the scanner from the computer and plug it into a different port and wait for Microsoft hardware wizard to pop up and point it to the cd for the driver.

No Mother board is compatable.
The Motherboard and hard drive are paired and cannothe be replaced.
The best thing to do is to buy a new computer and use the Harddrive as a slave on the new one.
