How to hard reset p990i - Sony Ericsson P990i Smartphone

most hard resets for cellphones are done by done by powering off the device ,when fully off hold the power button, and volume up key at the same time until you see the android logo appear,but in other cases you can preform a hard reset by holding the power button ,home button and volume up key..please note that all personal data and downloaded apps will be erased

for resetting the phone, you need the old password. You can try with 0000 or 1234 or 12345 or 00000000

There is also a secret code to format ur hard disk, I stumbled upon it few days back. :-) Assuming u've flip closed mode, press the right short cut key once, then press *, then press left short cut key twice followed by * again, then again press left short cut and * again. U would now get a sevice menu, go to the last option and u are there...!! :-) google about P990i hidden menu, if u arent clear what key to press. :-)

go to control pannel >>messaging>>>>area information>>>>>unmark area information

Try to enter 0000 to format the phone...I've got a similar problem too,..
