Can I block a phone number on my Avaya 5410 phone?

I have several recurring telemarketing calls (free Google ads, free vacation deals, etc.) that we would like to block since they refuse to take us off their calling lists even though we've requested it. Is there a way to "block" the phone numbers. I know you can on some Uniden phones and was hoping we could here at work on the Avayas.

Probably not unless it is in the user manual
what you can do is call your service provider and have those numbers blocked to your phone

SOURCE: Avaya Partner-18D office phone-After an intercom call, the receiver's phone rings

Try hitting the speaker button and intercom your boss. When you hit the speaker button to hang up, do you get the same thing? If not. It could be that the gray "clicker" switch that pushes down when you put the handset back isnt going all the way back down...

Let me know.

Go there, I have it as an FAQ.

That is how you can do it using forwarding.

If you are already at the phone you want to answer calls, you can use follow me here.
*12*N# ( where N is the extension you want forwarded to where you are )

*13*N# to cancel the forwarding. ( where N is the extension you want forwarded to where you are )

Do you have access to Manager? You can tag the incoming call which does not show the caller ID of a call until the call is answered.

Is it possible to get caller ID for an incoming call if I have that number saved as a speed dial? If so, how do I get that. My phone is the Avaya IP Office 5410. Thanks

If the number matches the CID number, you should get the name as well. But here is the hard part.
IF your system requires you to dial an access code (say 9 to get an outside line) you may have that speed dial number saved as:
913125551212

If so, the incoming caller ID would have to match exactly, meaning CID would need to show 913125551212 in order for this to work.

BUT, caller id probably only shows 13125551212, and as such, wont work.

How can I block telemarketers from calling me. I pay for call block on my phone bill, but it does not work.

When a telemarketer calls tell them "Remove this number form your calling list now (then tell them your #). Then you can hang up!!!

It is the LAW that if you tell the telemarketers not to call your number back, they can't.

If they do call back again after telling them not to call back they can get in serous trouble...so they never call back.

I had this problem when I got my new phone number that was used previously.Know no one calls me!!!

the Phone block you have only blocks a certain list of well known Telemarketers.

Switch board phone needed to transfer lines, etc.?

You should not need the main phone to access the system and make changes as long as the phone you are trying to make changes from has a LCD screen.

Number Not Provided

Usually not unless you programmed all of your speed dials with a *67 first. Usually this is set up by you the end user, with the telephone company, having a private/restricted number, or by adding call blocking to your line. If you dial *82 then the phone number of somebody that you have this problem with, the call should go thru. You can have this feature removed by the phone company, however no matter who you call, stores, resturants etc... will have your number for telemarketing purposes.
Hope this helps.

Diverting incoming calls to another office

You have posted this question under the Panasonic system, but have mentioned the Avaya IP Office 5410. I can't help you with that.

However, for the "other user" that has the same problem, if you're trying to forward calls directed to your extension, you can forward them to any outside telephone number by using the Call Forward/Do Not Disturb (FWD/DND) button. The code numbers depend on your telephone system (the KX-T7633 can be used on multiple systems), and how your system was programmed by your installer, so I can't describe the exact procedure. Also, your extension may have been blocked from using this feature by your installer.

We have a support package that allows us to make all the changes you need over the Internet for a flat annual fee. If you want your whole system to work properly and all changes to be made for you at a flat budget, call us at 877-236-8376.
