First you must connect the antena cable on JVC dvd/vcr ant in and from ant out of jvc connect to TV ant in. Then you must find TV programs on JVC.After that you can record a program and watch another. Be careful you record the program which you find on your JVC.
Is this when you are watching a DVD, or Tape, or when watching TV using
the Combo's tuner? The effect you describe is caused by the video
signal losing its DC level.

to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.
