I HAVE A PIONEER AUDIO/VIDEO MULTI- CHANNEL RECEIVER, MODEL VSX-D912-K THE STAND-BY LIGHT JUST BLINKS, THE MANUAL SAYS IT WILL NEED TO BE TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE, i BELIEVE WE HAD LOST POWER BEFORE THIS UNIT STOPPED WORKING. i ALSO REMOVED THE COVER TO SEE IF IT WAS ANYTHING SIMPLE, LIKE A RESET BUTTON, NO BUTTON, FOUND TWO FUSES, TESTED WITH A METER, AND BOTH HAD CONTINUITY. AM I LOOK AT AN EXPENSIVE FIX?

By coaxial, do you mean the composite (yellow)?
Either way you have to use the same style no matter what the cable. I mean, if you have s-video's IN to the reciever then you need S-videos OUT to the TV. ....Component IN to the reciever? then Component OUT to the TV. And so on. You cant have composite cords going into the reciever and use a component cord out to the TV (with the exception of a few models).
regarding the Pioneer VSX-912 blinking standby light. This is how you reset it; press the "advanced surround" and the " enter" at the same time for about 3 seconds. Make sure you press the ENTER on the reciever (its the one on top next to the small dial) If you press the "ON" instead of "ENTER" it will not work. If an error message comes on and shuts the unit down, just reset it again. This should save you some $$$$. To bad Pioneer did't put this info in the manual.
try to soft reset the recievers by unplug for a while and replug and try power on , or hold up the rear reset butomn and press power at the szame time then release both
If your tv and reciever are the same brand then it is posible that the IR for your reviever needs to be replaced.or you are not switching the button thst belongs to the sets.if you are using a universal remote then you have to push the button that belongs to the set you want to operate, good luck.
My receiver is 6 channel, and not the 7.1 the header shows.
